Mangos and Mistletoe: A Foodie Holiday Novella
Reviews

3.5 stars |

a very fun holiday f/f baking show romance set in SCOTLAND, yes, thank you, more please.

I really liked this novella. The baking element really did it for me.

Liked the representation and the steam. Not so much the rest of it

i loved both kiskeya and sully, i loved the setting and their relationship, but it felt a little insta-love to me. the smut was enjoyable but i do wish we got more baking content and expansion on side characters rather than just them being horny lol.

It’s gay and baking and Christmas 🎄🥺

Review to come!

I finally finally finally got to read the Great British Bake Off inspired romance of my holiday dreams. Yay! Extra special because it is from Adriana Herrera and features a buttoned up professional patisserie chef who is completely unwound by her baking partner, the ray of sunshine and confident Sully who I totally have a book crush on now. The push and pull between Sully and Kiskeya's differing opinions on expressing their Dominican heritage, both in their personal lives and for the baking show, showcases Herrera's amazing ability to write romances that are both delightfully sexy and emotionally poignant. My only regret is that I wasn't immediately able to don an apron and get into a kitchen after reading, but reading this story made me feel like I was there anyway. Is it too soon to ask for more stories set in this world?! Thank you to the author for the ARC! My own copy is on preorder!

Christmas in July, anyone? This novella was absolutely delightful. I enjoyed the baking competition aspect nearly as much as I did the tension and connection between Kiskeya and Sully. Such a fun, sweet and hot read. Can I binge all the Adriana Herrera books now?

Lo ameeeee

Highlights

I imagined us as little bits of soil, of earth, from the same place that had been picked up and scattered, and now were here, blending back together. Finding each other so far from where we’d come from.

"Like a guy wanting another guy made some kind of sense, but having no use for a man in any way? It was unthinkable.”

“We’re like the Carol Danvers and Maria Rambeau of the baking world." She pursed her lips, but I could see she was very close to cracking a smile, so I decided to shoot my shot. "Except more like the AO3 version because I'm like, really gay." With me, boredom usually led to extremely poor decisions, and I was in a mood.
iconic

She furrowed her brow and picked up the little heart which was one half Dominican flag and the other half the Pride one.
