I enjoyed this book as a light airy crime read. It read quickly, it was moderately amusing, and it kept my attention. But it suffered from what a lot of crime reads do, too much genre and not enough character and plot development. I never cared about the narrator, the solution telegraphed itself early on, and Clark never really developed the relationships between the characters. It read sometimes like the 10th book in a series rather than the first, because she never gave the reader enough information to really care about these people.
