When I started reading this book, I had vague memories of reading it before. However, those memories correlated with the first part of the book but did not line up with the rest so I likely read a book with a similar initial premise. Haddix sets out an intriguing if nearly cliché premise. The narrative flowed quickly and served its purpose of driving the plot in this highly plot centered book. The opening chapter was my favorite and while the rest of the book did not go downhill, it certainly did not live up to the opening chapter and did a mild disservice to Angela who comes into the book later. In summary, I read this book quickly, did not find major plot holes and did not find anything to complain about. I also did not find anything that I especially loved. I will not read the rest of the books in the series.

This story has a crazy and intriguing premise behind it. I love the set up and the loyalty/camaraderie between the main characters so far.
