Taste of Darkness

★★★★★ 5.00 STARS "You have my heart, my soul, my life. I'm an empty shell without you" And I have finished the whole series for nine days despite a very very busy schedule on my end. And it calls for something. Because, THANK THE FLEA, I ENJOYED AND LOVED THESE BOOKS SO VERY MUCH!!!! I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE AN OUNCE OF REGRET READING THIS SERIES. I AM NOW CERTAIN THIS SERIES MADE ITS WAY INTO MY MOST FAVORITE SERIES OF ALL TIME!!! Okay, that was my raw emotion talking. And after minutes of taking a deep breath to calm myself, I'm positive my initial reaction to this series would last a lifetime. Because this series is just the BEST!!! I loved every single part of this save-the-whole-world-from-the-handsome-psychopath-tohon situation. I was amused with how the story and adventure progressed and developed. I am very much thankful I am able to accept and love each turn of event, the direction it all went. Avry's character development was one of the vital point of this book. She managed to keep her strength and positive attitude and evolved it more throughout the story and even made her weaknesses as stepping stone to achieved her goal. Kerrick getting weaker and vulnerable in the last book didn't even appear as defect since it only made Avry stood more on her ground. And it made me happy because I am so much tired of reading stories about the guy being the savior all the time. It was a very good visual to show that shared power and strength between the female and male character was necessary. One more thing I loved about this aside from the character development and the story flow was the gang interaction!!! Even if there was only a little of that interaction in the second book Scent of Magic, which was inevitable but necessary, that didn't appeal less for me. The individual journey of the gang only added so much more to the story. And thank the Flea for the gang comeback on the last book Taste of Darkness!! I loved their interaction so so so much!!! I was quite hesistant to start this series because of one thing over the other. But I'm so glad I did!! It just made me so so so happy!!! I praised Maria V. Snyder for this wonderful series. I hope I'll stumble upon more reads or something that made me feel this good in the future. Kudos!!!

This series is so underrated, its sad! I really enjoyed it - it had an original plot, with twists, romance, war and magic! Whats not to enjoy! I really loved the characters and the way the book ended - fit the overall story!
