I'm not going to write a detailed review, but I will say that this a brilliantly and thoroughly written book which you'll get a lot out of if you are interested in the evolution of police procedure, in forensic psychology/profiling or in the accounts of serial killers in general. The author focuses on all those things along with victimology and excellent analysis of the investigative procedure.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It is a gripping account about the Yorkshire ripper and how he came to justice but I found that some parts dragged a lot and some chapters could have been completely left out altogether. The chapters are incredibly long and some seem to be in a funny order. However, when it goes into the details of the crimes/how the police investigation was conducted it was very addictive and read like a thriller novel not a non-fiction book.
