** spoiler alert ** Twist: Beth doesn’t actually give up her powers at the end, and becomes a maniacal worldwide dictator.

This was a fun read. It had a large amount of mystery going on when the Mavy discovers a strange spacecraft sunk underwater and tasks a crew of scientists to investigate it. Once our crew is underwater it has a very claustrophobic feel to it and I loved figuring out the mystery of it all!

Michael Crichton had some amazing ideas, as pretty much all the blurbs on his books catch my interest. But, and that's a big "but", the writing is terrible. Sphere is heavy on dialogue, flat characters, and sensational action scenes. It's obvious that Crichton's true calling was screenplay writing, and so far all of the books that I've read by him were made into movies. He often wrote about interesting and very much possible technologies, but I so wish his execution was better. Nevertheless, this novel is fun, easy on the brain, and drowning in enough cheese to make this a guilty pleasure.

Fun Sci-fi read.
I loved the movie growing up. But just like the film, the books ending is abit lack luster.

** spoiler alert ** Sphere by Michael Crichton This was one of those books that I already knew well because I'd seen the film first. But it was one of my favourite books ever! It's been ages since I have read a book with so much ease! I enjoyed the characters, loved the storyline and was excited by the unconventional aliens. To date, this is my favourite Crichton book!

An entertaining read.

Really good and fun. I just wish the women were written better.
