Hot Coffee on the Mississippi

"Hot Coffee on the Mississippi" takes place during the great depression of the 1930's near a town named Hot Coffee. The father, Jim York, loses his job and is forced to make their small farm support his family, and they all work together to survive. The York family has hard times and good times during those depression years. You will meet a cantankerous rooster named Bodacious, a dog named Little John that was attacked by a bear; also a mule named Eb that has a bad attitude from you-know-where. That is just a few of the animals you will get to meet. This book has many laughs and a few tears, but every chapter includes a lesson for the young and for the older reader it will stir memories. I believe this book will delight all who read it. "Hot Coffee on the Mississippi" will leave the reader with a warm feeling. I was inspired by my grandmother, William, to write this book. You will get to meet Willie, which is what everybody called her, and find out how she got a man's name.
