Misbehaved

Remington Stringer has never been like most girls. She's outspoken, brazen and wants nothing more than to escape the Nevadan hell hole that she calls home. On the brink of eighteen, with a deceased mother and a well-meaning, yet absent father, she is forced to fend for herself. The only person she's ever had to depend on is her borderline obsessive stepbrother, Ryan. But, what used to be her anchor is quickly becoming a loose cannon. When Remi gets the opportunity to attend the best private school in the state during her senior year of high school, she jumps at the chance. Then she meets Mr. James. Ornery, aloof, and totally irresistible. Most girls would swoon in secrecy. Most girls would doodle his name with hearts in their notebook. But Remi Stringer has never been like most girls.

4 stars... This was a good read as a student teacher book.. But there were some exaggerating parts in the story which I didn't like that much. And yet it wasn't my most favourite.. but I think I'll be reading more of the authors works. Loved it.. Here is a quote from the book: That’s what I loved the most about debate. There is no right or wrong in this world. No black and white. Remington and I live in the gray area. Logic is pointless. Gut feeling is dangerous. The only way to know whether you did the right or wrong thing is to ride it out and see it to the end.

Real talk, this gave a lot more than I ever expected it to give. I thought this was going to be your classic student-teacher taboo relationship yada yada but it actually delved a bit deeper than that and explored some pretty dark and complicated themes. The spice was decent but I don’t think I ever really felt like the tension was there and I probably would have preferred more of a slow burn when it came to the two MCs relationship. Also things at the end were a bit too quickly resolved for me. This is definitely one to check the trigger warnings for bcos there were scenes that are extremely uncomfortable to read and themes that definitely won’t suitable for everyone.

Student-Teacher h e l l o h o t n e s s “I don’t want any secrets in my life,” I announce, out of nowhere. I’m folding my arms across my chest now, looking resolute. “Secrets make you feel...dirty. And alone.” “Are you saying that you don’t have any secrets?” Pierce strokes his chin deep in thought, and even though his voice is light and aloof as always, I know that the answer to this questions holds a special weight for him. I play along, looking him dead in the eye. “Not anymore.” Remi is aiming for a fresh start her Senior year of high school. Fresh into a new private school - she is determined to become more than where she came from. All she’s ever had was her barely there relationship with her dad, no mother and a step-brother that was there for every big moment in her life - not having so many brotherly feelings towards her. Insert Pierce. The teacher. The 11 years her senior speech and debate t e a c h e r. From the moment she steps into his classroom sparks fly. Was it fate or was it secrets of his past that brought them together? “Misbehaved,” by Charleigh Rose is a forbidden student-teacher, age gap romance. It is definitely a slow burn, but once it catches up to you it’s a five-alarm fire. If you are looking for some taboo with a slice of angsty hot teacher, you definitely need to binge this easy read.

Most of this was honestly a 3 star read, but the last few chapters got on my nerves way too much and I had to take off a star. Sadly my first Charleigh Rose book didn’t impress :(
