Where have I been?

I have no idea where the heck I have been must have had my head stuck in the sand because I have been missing so much. Things are making sense now and I can see a few people who are going to make further appearances. 

I like this book focusing on Krycheck the mysterious man we saw incisions of heat and I think we all screamed no when we found out who his father was and is won't spoil that one you have to read it to see...
But I love that in a way he was as much flawed as Sahara because he loved her from been a boy. It also in a way gives an insight to my thinking what two Psy are when they compliment each other and is there any more out there I wonder. There was a mention about the forgotten and there new talent and I'm hoping in future books we get to see some of those talents it would be interesting to see what they have up there sleeves.

I was excited for this book. I knew Kaleb would be getting his own book eventually and it was so obvious there was more to him then the cold harsh exterior he presented. Especially as it was obvious he was hiding another side to himself (look guys, it was obvious and I guessed it many books ago). 

I was a little uncertain of what direction this would be going in. At first we are presented with Sahara as a scared and broken women rescued by Kaleb but also trapped in his control in his home. It was obvious he didn't intend to hurt her but it did seem he was trying to manipulate her. And it took a long while for the reveal to happen as to why he expended so much energy to arrange the rescue and discover her. The connection between Sahara and Kaleb took a while to be revealed and I was frustrated because the imbalance of power between them made me a little uncomfortable when I couldn't understand his motives without seeing their full past. That's not to say I wasn't invested in the romance but it did mean I was hesitant about it and was pleased to see it progressed slowly so I could fully believe Sahara was recovered and strong enough to stand up to Kaleb when she needed to. 

There was a lot going on in this book. We had seen Pure Psy featured repeatedly in past books and their quest to 'cleanse' things to raise the true pay to power and leaders of the world. Noone could be comfortable with that narrative so I was pleased to see a lot of the story focus was on Kaleb battling against them and trying to foil their plans, even if he was selfish in wanting to place control of the payment in his own hands. He may not have been totally altruistic he was doing it because his power may be the only one which could keep the net stable and provide an environment the Psy needed. It was good and that plot helped drive me along as well. 

This was just a really good book. This was partially because so many story threads developed in previous books came together but it had good characters too. I did feel the absence of the changelings in this book because they're books are always filled with the warmth of pack. But I think I liked the Psy focus here because this book plays a pivotal role in what's next and the potential changes to come. I think there are a couple of books in the series as significant as this one I. That they bring together plot threads and spark a big change for future books.
