“So the killer was closer to Gibson at the time but came for you?”

“So I don’t know if it’s Robert in a hoodie or Malcolm in his long coat.”

It’s also important to not forget that the wires looked like they hadn’t even been touched. The three suspects I have are Reeve, Liam, and Gibson

“When was this, exactly?” “Right before I went to the security room with Reeve, and you went searching for wire with Gibson.”

Reeve could be Robert. He could’ve gotten that injury from either Paisley or one of the others who was killed and the drowsiness could either be an act or a genuine reaction to the injury he got from paisley/one of the victims

But the way Camilla is acting makes me believe that Robert is behind this and not Reeve. Besides, it would be difficult to cause your own head injury and fake the drowsiness.

She didn’t witness the murder she found the body. That’s not the same thing

“There’s a big difference between talking about murder and witnessing one. We’re all scared here, Paisley.”

Gibson and Reeve do look. Both shout out in shock even though they know what they’re about to see. When did they even get here? They didn’t mention anything on the radio.

I push off and startle as a panel in the side of the cart falls to the ground. Liam shouts, his eyes wide and mouth open in horror. He grabs me, yanking me toward him with a fistful of my shirt. I gasp as I hit his chest and my heart stops at his reaction. “Wh-what?” “Don’t look, Paisley.” I don’t listen because I have to know. I cling to Liam as tightly as he’s clinging to me and turn my head.

I’m convinced Gibson and Reeve are behind this

“Malcolm with you?” Gibson asks as our group merges with his. Reeve glances at me. “No. I figured when he wasn’t back at the hotel, he’d be with you.”

I could have served one during my summer job at the Olive Garden. Here’s a breadstick to go with your homicide.

we will walk past thirty-six murderers in our lifetime. Give or take, depending on lifestyle.

Blaine would laugh his ass off if he knew I was skipping walking a ghost train because I’m paranoid. He’ll never know about this.

Essence

Wow wow wow wow. The ending omg. Needed a small pick me up read. Fast paced, heck of a cliffhanger. I was not expecting the book to just end there. 

I will be reading more books from Natasha Preston in the future

First off, I read this whole book in ONE freaking day and let me say that I NEVER accomplish that lol. This read like a fun slasher movie only it’s starring all kinds of influencers including a Bookstagrammer, so you can imagine my excitement! I was eating this book up from start to nearly the end. It’s not written like a masterpiece but there’s something fun and easy about diving into a thriller and I happened to have the free time to sit and enjoy it all in one sitting.

Picture me, giddy with excitement.. trying to guess the killer, stoked that I’d be squeezing in one more read for January. It’s 9:42 PM and I get to the end where something VERY shocking happens.. but imagine my surprise when I can’t flip the page again and THAT is the ending??

For obvious purposes, I won’t be saying what happened but that I do feel very unsettled (which what probably the purpose?) but this kind of ending just isn’t for me and actually knocked off some stars from my rating 😅.

Overall, I don’t regret reading this one at all.. but the ending still has me in shock lol.

Highly recommend reading this for all its twists and turns. It’s a thrilling read that’s seriously hard to put down.

Paisley is the main character we follow, a true crime blogger, who I absolutely loved. She can tell something seems weird her first night there when she feels like someone is following her and things only get weirder and more intense from there.
