Neil Farber

Neil Farber2005
As a pillar of the Canadian collective, The Royal Art Lodge, Neil Farber continues to chum out witty works on paper, full of motley, quirky characters. But in this volume, he goes further, with larger, more complex compositions that fill the page edge-to-edge, simultaneoulsy beckoning and perplexing the viewer. Strange humanoids, vibrant colors and just plain bizarre juxtapositions create a sinister playfulness that brings Farber to new horizons as an artist. No tidy explanations here; like most of Farber's work, these pieces must be appreciated on several levels.
