Instantly recognisable to even the most casual fan of manga, Neon Genesis Evangelion is currently experiencing a resurgence in the form of this sequel series, based on the last episode of the hit TV show. The original Neon Genesis Evangelion is widely regarded as a key work in the manga canon, and is partially responsible for bringing the genre to the attention of western audiences. The Shinji Ikari Raising Project places the titular hero in the alternate universe briefly glimpsed in the final episode, and continues his adventures in a subtly altered Kyoto.
