In this darkly humorous prequel to Herr Lehmann, a 20-year old Lehmann struggles with his problems. He can't seem to get anywhere with girls, he forgot to register as a consciencious objector and now must serve his military service, and as soon as he moved into a barracks his parents take over his room for their own purposes, ignoring his ability to come home for weekends, which drives him to seek asylum in the apartment of friends with whom he can't seem to fit in.
