I absolutely loved the concept of this book. Though the beginning was a bit too predictable for my taste (although that's not really the author's fault, I'll blame the synopsis and general knowledge of Greek mythology), but once the action started rising, I was hooked. 
I highly highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a refreshing new take on the same mythology that forms the basis for so many other reimaginations.

Had you have told me that the Underworld would have been ruled by a male Hades by the end of the book, I would have been pissed. However, having read the whole progression and arc of the characters, I am in love with the ending. For Hades to have made such a sacrifice truly speaks to her strength of character and the purity of her love. She is a character who deserves everything.

I adore this book.
The gender bending and retelling of Greek mythology was extremely interesting and seeing characters pop up where I know the true myth behind was really fun. Knowing the true mythology kind of made the book a fun game of guess who.
I didn't give it fine stars however because I personally didn't like where the ending went. It's not what I would have done but I've still got the second book to read to see where it goes.
A good book is one that makes you want to cosplay immediately and this book definitely got my creative mind racing.

           Very interesting tale, I was expecting a genderbending of Persephone and hades love story but this was entirely different than that. Going into this adoring Persephone, I was disappointed she isn't a real person but a name for Hades. To be honest, I was expecting a love story like The Dark Wife
by Sarah Diemer. With a female Hades and Persephone. I got drawn into reading the story from watching her tiktoks. At first I was disappointed in the Persephone part, but eventually the characters and writing snagged me in. I do believe the Zeus and Hades beginning wasn't my favorite beginning, It kinda turned me off to it. Since I think Zeus is a pig and no one would put themselves in that position for that loser. But I'm glad I stuck through. It was a great read.
