The Pool Boy
Reviews

This was such a endearing book and while it was a very steamy read it also had some sweet emotional connection that was built throughout the story here. It was also quite interesting to see the heroine being the one that is the older age in the relationship as that is less common in age gaps. But it was very well done and I really liked how the author did make sure that they both have commonalities for them both to relate to. The only complaints that I had with this book was the ending, it just felt very rushed and had a more HFN than a HEA. While it still ends happily, I find HFN not quite as satisfying and would have preferred an ending that finalizes the book a bit better.

It wasn't bad, just wasn't entirely my thing. I'm generally okay with age gaps, but this one skirted a little too close to my personal preferences. Honestly, I think my main problem was that Erika was a little too shallow at the beginning which made it hard for me to relate to her. And the fact that pretty much all of the adults acted like teenagers most of the time. Like please mind your own business! I felt like Troy was more mature than everyone else. A+ sex scenes though, like whew.

*3.75

wow do I have mommy issues too

3.5 stars for the smut oh my god but i think there was too much plot, if that’s possible? and i hate the singer/manager trope which i didn’t even know was gonna be in this book so that’s on me

I really liked reading the story, it was better than the doctor because it had more plot, but still it was mostly just story of an older woman having sex with her pool boy that changed into being her boyfriend, and international superstar. I liked Troy so fucking much he always said the right things. I did like Erika as well just don't have anything to say about her cause the only really cool thing I saw in her was the boob job she got after the divorce. Still I saw this more as a wattpad story then a book i would've bought.

A fantastic story between two characters who come from different background but find the same passion and dream in life. Lots of lust and love but beneath it all a Storyline of becoming yourself and following your dreams. Characters were easily relatable

So much to love about this series and now I can dive into the third book, which is the whole reason I picked this series up in the first place! 🙃

I don’t usually gravitate towards reverse age gap romances but took a chance because I loved the first in this series so much and this did not disappoint.

A lot of people were complaining that book 1 “The Doctor” lacked depth & I think Nikki made up for that with this book. Not to mention as opposed to 1 POV we got both Troy & Erikas in this book. It’s still not as deep as you would expect a romance book to be but I’m under the impression these are supposed to be light & sexy so if that is the case she 100% nailed it & I would definitely recommend if that’s what you’re looking for.

I love a good steamy age gap romance, and this definitely fit the bill, BUT The Pool Boy is so much more than that. We get to see Ericka go from a loveless marriage, becoming her own woman again, getting back into her musical groove again, AND she gets to bang a hot younger man?! That growth y’all, that growth!

A steamy, feel-good story September Wrap-Up: https://youtu.be/CGG2Dfuj9ao A super fast read. I always enjoy a “forbidden” romance, and it was nice to see the age gap flipped to an older woman, younger man. The couple’s relationship is solid and there’s isn’t anything overly dramatic happening, which is a refresher. I enjoyed the story and would recommend for anyone looking for a lighter read!

" “Get these off,” I demanded. “Yes, ma’am.” His grin made him look impossibly young and even more attractive." I'm a sucker for a good ma'am and the pool boy in question ma'am's real good. Not in bed though whew. This age-gap pushed me right to the edge of my comfort level, and was so hot even I found myself a bit uncomfortable reading on my family vacation. But not enough to stop, nope. I wasn't expecting the sort of Nashville-esque musician plot, and I think I liked the part about him becoming her client (not just her pool boy) was the tiny bit that was too much for me. I'm glad it was worked out he wouldn't be, but there were so cringe-y moments there. I was also uncomfortable that it was her best-friend's son, but that was part of the taboo. The sub-plot of her cheating ex-husband was also a bit squicky (view spoiler)[she catches her ex-husband having sex with his colleague, another cis-man. She does keep his secret, since he is not out, and the eventually talk and come to a bit of resolution about why their marriage didn't work (hide spoiler)]. But dang, there's some good sexy content in here. Yes there is.

This series keeps getting better! This book was just as good as the first one and I really loved Erika and Troy’s story. This is also an age-gap and it was so good. Erika was forty-two but she wanted to experience new things in the bedroom and her husband never helped her so after realizing of his cheating she finds the perfect solution to her new freedom and all the things she wanted to try. Troy had a crush on her for 5 years but she always saw him as her friends’ son and her pool boy, but it all changed when he saw her topless and they realized they’re both attracted to each other. They had a lot of steamy scenes and I loved them all, Erika wanted to try different things and Troy helped her fulfill them all. He was amazing and he only wanted for her to notice him and when it happened there were fireworks all the time. Their story was really addictive too and I couldn’t put the book down. This was a hot book too, and being an age-gap made it all better for me. Erika and Troy were amazing and I loved how it all unfolded between them.
