Laurel McBane, is part of the Bride Quartet, a group of four friends who known each other since childhood. Laurel's contribution to the wedding business is Cakes, and she is dang good at it too. Even though this wasn't Laurel's dream, but because of financial difficulties with her parents, she had to quit culinary school and decided to help her friends with the wedding business and bake wedding cakes. Even though two of her friends have found love and romance in their lives, Laurel doesn't really believe she will be as lucky, especially when there is one man that she has always loved, but one who treats her like a sister, Delaney Brown who is Parker's brother. Even though a passion flares between them, Laurel still has doubts about Delaney and wonders if he could ever love her and still thinks that he is way beyond her reach when it comes to Happily Ever After. But sometimes life has a way of changing circumstances, and that even in her normal life you can still find your Prince Charming...Savor The Moment is the third in the Bride Quartet, and my favorite series so far written about this author. I haven't read too many of her books, I have only read this series and the Chesepeake Bay Series. After reading Savor The Moment, I decided that this is my favorite of the books of the series so far, and even though I haven't read Parker's story, I absolutely adored Laurel. I felt connected to Laurel in a way that I wasn't with Emma or Mac. There was such a emotional side to Savor The Moment, one that connects the story to the reader in a way that usually doesn't happen very often, but when it does I thoroughly take advantage of the moment and get a box of tissues. (LOL) Although most of the story was witty and sexy, there were still those moments where I definitely needed the tissues, but in a good way. Savor The Moment satisfied me in every way possible, from the first page I was drawn in, and there was nothing that could draw me away from these tender romance. I loved how the story line and is basically holds true for the rest of the series, that these are normal women who have faced different challenges in their lives, that most readers can relate to, and even normal people can find a magical love that sometimes we can only dream and...read about. This is one of the aspects that I have truly enjoyed reading in this series. I just LOVED Savor The Moment, filled with everything that you need in a good romance that will blow you away....

This is probably my least favorite installment into this series and my least favorite couple, and I still really enjoy both the book and the couple. Doesn’t that speak volumes of my love for the series?

Laurel is an amazing pastry chef. The wedding cakes she designs for her clients are beautiful enough to make angels weep, and are always lovingly personalized to each couple. Parker has been her best friend for as long as she can remember, and she’s been in love with Parker’s older brother for almost as long. Delaney has always viewed Laurel as another sister; or at least, he did, until she completely destroyed that viewpoint by kissing the sisterly affection right out of him. The relationship they build from the ashes of that familial fondness is sweet and funny.

Laurel is incredibly sarcastic, and not the most optimistic of women. Her surliness is at odds with her sunny blonde hair and cornflower blue eyes. She’s super entertaining, but I just don’t connect quite as much with her as I do with the other three women that form the Quartet. Same goes for Del. He’s a slick lawyer with a propensity for micromanaging the lives of those he loves, which drives Laurel insane. But he’s also incredibly kind and chivalrous, so it’s hard to hold that against him. But again, I just don’t connect as much to him as I do to the other three men who fall in love with various members of the Quartet. 

All of that being said, I still devoured this book (cake pun intended). When the weakest volume of a series is still 4 stars, you know it’s a favorite.

Oh my heck there is SO MUCH CAKE PORN in this book! All I wanted to do after reading it was go to a bakery and ask for some sugar paste flowers! Laurel was one of my favorite characters in the previous two books because I loved her sassy mouth and sarcasm. I figured from the first book that she had a thing for Parker's brother Delaney, and by book two I couldn't wait to see how their story played out. This is definitely a perfect fluffy romance!

I love this series and its great depictions of female friendship and entrepreneurship (and the romance duh). This is my least favorite of the four, as the romance feels the most forced. What I do love about it is the glimpses of Mal and Parker's chemistry, which is the topic of the last book Happy Ever After (and my ultimate favorite).

Savor the Moment is similar to the second book in the Bride Quartet, Bed of Roses, in that Laurel and Del have been part of the same friend group since childhood and are now involved. The difference in the story is the characterization of Laurel and Del as well as the insertion of Mal to their gang. Laurel's baking adds to the story as many of her creations are described in detail. Although this book is eleven years old, it reminds me of many of the recent romances based around cooking, making it seem well ahead of its time. Overall, Savor the Moment is another enjoyable addition to the Bride Quartet.
