Attention! This review contains spoilers but I would prefer not to hide them from the lovely eyes of all you Goodreaderians (or whatever else you would like to be called!) So, if you please, do not read this review if you don't want any spoilers! Such a good book! I'm in love with this series. Olympus at War was certainly a wonderful, wonderful story. Emily's spirit, bravery and defiance is always well written and beautifully portrayed. Also, it's not just her character that was great, it's everyone! I loved how the Nirads weren't all bad, and I'm so glad their kind personalities were shown. (Plus, four armed monsters? Sounds pretty cute, actually!) And how could you not adore the sister-brothery bond between Joel and Emily? "Now dry those tears before you blow us all up and ruin my plans for escape" -Joel. I have to say, though, I'm seriously in a frenzy about who has Emily's heart?!? Joel is the obvious choice, but what if it's actually Paelen?!?!? Or else why would there be so many times where Paelen could cheer Emily up, and his crooked smiles are mentioned!?? But then again it should be Joel because of how much they like each other?!? HELLLPP. *takes deep breath and calms down* The vicious villains weren't so vicious, either - I loved how the Gorgons had personalities as well! While they were still evil killers, they really just grieve their sister and are thirsty for power and defeat of others above them. Two sides to every story, after all. Though they did want to kill Emily's dad in the end, they spared him at first even though they could have just killed him on the spot. Anyways, apologies for such a disorganized review. Olympus at War was a well-written sequel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and would most certainly recommend!
