After reading a Morgan Book Last Festive Season I knew that it would be the perfect time to dive into another Festive Christmassy read from Morgan and this one was just what I needed over the last few days to escape to and experience Morgan’s world building and characters that just always leave me wanting more.

Gayle Mitchell is a hugely successful, inspirational CEO & following a television interview her life literally falls apart. An accident gives her pause for reflection especially in the fractured relationship with daughter Samantha who runs a successful bespoke holiday company and Ella, married to Michael and a stay at him mum to Tabitha. Much against the sisters will they all decide to see if its time repair their relationship and spend Christmas in the Scottish Highlands to see if Brodie McIntyre’s estate would be a good fit for Samantha’s holiday company.

As I have come to love and expect from Sarah Morgan these books are captivating and have a way of drawing you in as the reader and leaving you not wanting the book to end but also needing to understand what happens next. This is a Second Chance book that is set to the beautiful Scottish Highlands! There’s a bit of everything in this book, it has a good message, there’s humour, there’s reflection, there’s Christmas, there’s the warmth of friendship.

Overall, another good Christmas book offering from the author. It’s lovely, charming, heart-warming, and perfect to escape to over the festive season.

I look forward to reading Sarah Morgan’s novels. She’s got enough cheese to keep my feeling happily gooey, but not too much smut to make me uncomfortable. Her novels aren’t always romance, but they’re always going to include romance. Many of the books of hers that I’ve previously read are about the power of friendships, this one is about the power of family. 
	There were a few things about the story that I found difficult to believe, like have a pseudo-relationship with your kids but not having any idea one of them is married and has a kid. That baffled me. Although…one of my kids got married without letting me (or anybody else) know for a decent chunk of time. All the parents are still a bit miffed about that, but it wasn’t because they were angry at us, it was just because that’s what they wanted to do. This woman got married, had a baby, and kept her life apart from her mom for FIVE YEARS! I can’t even understand that. And I can’t understand Gayle’s rigidity. I just don’t get why she was so unbending. I suppose there wouldn’t be much of a story without those pieces, however, so I’ll just let it all slide. 
	The one thing that REALLY stuck out to me, and it was such a small thing…but it REALLY stuck out: When Tab got to meet the reindeer, she used the word “stoke” when asking if she could touch them. When was the last time you hear a four-year-old say “Can I stroke him?”. The lack of reality in word choice there really turned this from a four star into a three star. Such a tiny damn thing, but word choice is important. It’s a cute, uplifting holiday read, just had a single, GLARINGLY poor word choice.

Yet another beautiful book by Sarah Morgan. 

This is a MUST read for this December, go out and buy it right now. 

Sarah always without a doubt writes the best Christmas books, full to the brim of festive cheer and instantly makes me want to be in a lodge somewhere, stuck in the snow. 

What I loved most about this story is how Sarah managed to capture many unique stories, have all types of romance from new, old, lost and painful as well as bring in family drama and healing without the book EVER once feeling rushed. The story focuses on Gayle, a badass businesswoman, who has it all (or so it seems) the powerful job, her own boss, millions of adoring female fans all buying her best-selling book, but behind the scenes, her relationship with her two daughters, Samantha and Ella, has completely fallen apart. 

Samantha is running a successful travel business that focuses on the perfect Winter holiday, whilst her sister Ella is happily married and a stay at home mum with her daughter. A string of unplanned events, a fall, a hospital visit, a very personal phone call with the wrong person leads all three women in the Scottish highlands for Christmas. 

This novel could easily be a series, I loved the characters that Sarah character here, even the side characters felt whole and full of life. I loved the romance side of the story as well mixed with he family relationship neither over shadowed one another, perfectly balanced. 

5* Christmas romcom, comes highly recommended.
