One Night Only An absolutely hilarious and uplifting romantic comedy
Reviews

3.25 Stars I had a good time reading this one, I needed an escape from stressing out over an up and coming test and this helped. Just a very easy to get into rom com and appreciated how quickly I got into the story and started wanting the main couple together. I was entertained by Sarah being so dead set despite her attraction to Declan to send him packing after she sleeps with him, and him wanting no part of it but enjoying her trying. Of course, good ole fate comes in and it turns out he's her best friend (who is getting married later that weekend) husband's brother, and these two find themselves suddenly paired together as maid of honor and best man. Now personally the wedding scenes were my favorite I laughed a number of times and I was completely charmed by them. It also gave good insight into both their characters and from Declan's side it was nice seeing how he interacted with his family. I think this book would have been a four star if so much time wasn't wasted in between with the day-to-day stuff once they left Ireland and took longer for them to run into each other again. I loved Declan's character the most he was playful and flirty but also had a softer very honest side. Not having his POV made him a bit of a mystery and I always wanted to know more. I liked Sarah too she let too much of her parent's relationship and the guy who broke her heart control her life, hence only having one night stands but I was happy to see her realize she wanted more. She and Delcan were great together I thought they had a lot of chemistry and he was pretty understanding of her hang ups. This was definitely a story where the guy falls hard first and I loved that! I'm a slow burn fan all the way but there's also something great about these reverse slow burns that then slowly develop into more and still has a rewarding emotional build up

eARC provided by NetGalley and bookouture in exchange for an honest review. 4.5 stars ⭐️ I knew from the moment I started reading this book I was going to love it. Was it a rollercoaster of emotions for me? yes and I'm here for it. It was super easy to read and everything flowed super easily, the humor, the romance, the banter, and the dynamics between both of the characters were on point and were exactly what I wanted from it. “I am a woman who likes sex and who isn’t afraid to seek it out” This quote right here I something I really liked in Sarah's character, she is comfortable with who she is. She likes sex and likes to have one-night stands and has no problem saying it and seeking it out. Honestly, she felt like an old friend of mine who I would just hang out with on a Friday night and I loved it. This made me laugh and grin all the time, really enjoyed my time with it. I simply love the trope where one-night stands run into each other and I need more books with it asap. LOVED IT!

thanks to netgalley and bookouture for the arc! "You've got a suit thing?" "A tuxedo thing," I correct." So do I, Sarah, and I'm not ashamed to say it, lmao. Sarah Anderson has to go to the wedding of her best friend, Annie, in Ireland and there, she finds that the best man of the groom is the guy who she slept with a few nights ago, and who kicked out of her bed. What are the chances? oK, HOLY SHIT. THIS WAS AMAZING!!! A wedding in Ireland? My dream. A hot Ireland guy who I pictured the whole time as Tom Hiddleston (I know he's English lmao)? I'm totally in. I loved this book, from the beginning to the end. And I found myself at 12:34 am craving for more, lmao, I don't recognize myself. I liked Sarah's character. She's not so complex and she knows she's beautiful and that she likes sex. "I am a woman who likes sex and who isn't afraid to seek it out." yAS, QUEEN, YOU GO AND ENJOY YOURSELF, BUT BE CAREFUL. The pacing, the writing, the characters, the development, the romance, the humror... Everything was really great. Y'all know (because I've said it enough times) that I don't read much romance novels because I'm a hopeless romantic bitch who thinks that something like THIS is never gonna happen to her, which is sad. Claire has been secretly in love with Mark for 3 years and honestly, I can relate because she never made any moves on him, lmao, that was me. Declan's family is really cool and comfy, tho I wanted to kick some of them, lmao. I really loved Declan, he's funny, charming, lovely, has a big ass heart and looks so fucking good in a tuxedo. Yeah, I want someone like him. Taylor Swift's London Boy raised my expectations on men, you know? But One Night Only slapped me in the face and said "yeah, well, now you want an Irish dude", and tbh, I agree. I'm not taking less, hahaha jk. The only weird thing about this book was the smut. Usually, romance novels tend to describe a little bit more of sex, but this one didn't, which is cool. But, the weird thing is that I found myself almost screaming because I wanted more, lmaooooo. When this book gets published, you must read it. Delicate by Taylor Swift suits perfectly, yesssss. previous review a wEDDING IN IRELAND?!?!?!? my expectations on mEn are growing higher, yes, lmao

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookoture for my first ARC! Wow what a book to start off with! I thoroughly enjoyed it! A wonderful debut from Catherine Walsh and I’m already excited to see what she will write next. Sarah is a complex character who’s fighting between the two sides of herself. She has focused on her career and only done one night stands. I adored Declan more than I cared for Sarah. His charming personality, his cheeky quips, and how he’s so mysterious throughout this book. The romance was clever. Personally I appreciated that it wasn’t easy for Sarah nor Declan and how the book was spaced out over a longer period of time. It felt much more relatable and realistic. You go on a journey with these characters who have to face tough pasts to move forward. Catherine’s writing style was simple but conveyed so much. The atmosphere was fabulously done. Overall I adored this book and will be picking up a copy so I can read it over and over!!

arc provided by netgalley & bookouture. okey, first of all, wow. i really didn’t expect to like this as much as i did. after a some stressful weeks, i have had trouble finding books that give me that buzz, but this one absolutely did it for me. this book follows sarah, who had a one night stand with an irish man, she kicks him out of her apartment the morning after expecting to never see him again, to then find out he is the brother of her best friend's future husband, and they meet again a few days before their wedding. declan & sarah are so cute & funny, and i absolutely loved them together. i also think it’s important for me to say that this book kept me up until 4 am, and, as unoriginal as it is, i really wasn’t able to put it down. overall, i think this is a great rom-com. i had a lot of fun reading it and i’ll be sure checking thus author's new releases.

This was no cute and fluffy romance, it was delightfully messy, with flawed characters. Neither were perfect, the lead character least of all, and although at times I grew frustrated with her I enjoyed that the author chose not to allow Sarah’s defences to be broken down easily. Trauma from past experiences can affect you in so many ways and in many other books I’ve read characters seem to have a complete behaviour change after meeting one person, and it isn’t always realistic. This wasn’t the case here and I appreciated that. The light banter between Sarah and Declan was really fun, and I really enjoyed all the supporting characters too (especially Will he had some excellent comments that cracked me up). Their connection was evident from the start and even when they were bickering you couldn’t help but love them together! The setting was perfect, with a small section in Ireland and the majority in New York. It’d definitely recommend as a great summer read 🥰 I honestly had no idea this was a debut until I got to the end, I was so impressed with how well the characters were written and I will definitely be following the author from now on! Thank you so much to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC ❤️
