Ein gelungener Auftakt zu einer neuen YA-Reihe Inhalt: Ich bin die Freundin von Drew Callahan, College-Football-Legende und Traumtyp. Er ist schön, lieb – und trägt noch mehr Geheimnisse mit sich herum als ich. Er hat mich zu einem Teil seines Lebens gemacht, in dem alles nur Schein ist und jeder mich irgendwie hasst. Und wie es aussieht, will ihn jede haben. Aber er hat nur eins im Kopf: mich. Ich weiß nicht, was ich noch glauben soll. Das Einzige, was ich weiß: Drew braucht mich. Und ich will für ihn da sein. Für immer. (Quelle: Verlag) Meine Meinung: Dieses Buch ist für mich ein weiterer Ausflug ins YA-Genre, das mir immer besser gefallen zu scheint. Auch die Geschichte um Drew und Fable konnte mich nämlich mal wieder komplett einnehmen und überzeugen. Dabei verrät der Klappentext noch nicht einmal das wirklich interessante, zumindest für mich, an der Geschichte. Der englische Titel verrät es allerding: One Week Girlfriend. Der Traumtyp Drew fragt nämlich Fable, ob sie für die Woche, in der er nach Hause zu seiner Familie reist, seine Freundin spielen will. Fable ist bekannt dafür, dass sie sich abends öfters mal mit Jungs trifft. Gegen Bezahlung. Zufrieden mit dem Umstand ist sie nicht aber da ihre Mutter Alkoholikerin ist und Fable sich und ihren kleinen Bruder irgendwie versorgen muss, reicht ihr Kellnerinnengehalt nicht aus. Das Angebot von Drew reizt Fable jedoch, da er ihr viel Geld verspricht und damit nichts Sexuelles einhergeht und so nimmt sie an. Hey, Together Forever ist ein YA-Buch und so wissen wir, wie es ausgeht. Ist doch klar. Aber der ganze Weg dahin war wunderschön beschrieben und auch spannend, da er mit vielen Geheimnissen und teilweise erwarteten aber auch unerwarteten Wendungen einher ging. Sowohl Fable als auch Drew waren wundervolle Charaktere, die man absolut ernst nehmen konnte. Sie waren so unglaublich sympathische Menschen, hatten aber auch beide ihr Päckchen mit sich herum zu tragen und wurden dadurch nur noch mal authentischer und liebenswerter. Gerade mit dem, was sich zwischen den beiden entwickelt, hatten sie zu kämpfen und ich glaube, das macht dieses Genre auch ein Stück weit aus. Diese Beziehung ist nicht wie die schienbar perfekten Beziehungen, die uns in Fantasybüchern oder kitschigen Liebesromanen gezeigt werden. Sie sind verdammt nah dran am Leben und so konnten mich die beiden einfach überzeugen. Natürlich dürfen auch die Charaktere nicht fehlen, die man überhaupt nicht leiden kann und die ständig gegen Fable und Drew arbeiten. Erfrischenderweise waren das jedoch nicht irgendwelche anderen Love Interests sondern Drews Stiefmutter und irgendwie auch Fables Mutter. Wenn auch nur passiv. Das gab dem Buch eine ganz andere Note und konnte mich neben der One Week Girlfriend-Idee überzeugen. Der Schreibstil von Monica Murphy hat mir auch sehr gut gefallen. Er ist, wie es sich für ein Buch aus diesem Genre gehört, locker, leicht und angenehm zu lesen. Zusammen mit der Kürze des Buches ergibt das einen kurzweiligen Sommeroman, den man an einem Nachmittag ausgelesen hat. Auf der einen Seite ist das gut denn genau das ist es doch, was wir an heißen Sommertagen wollen, wenn wir ein kurzes Buch für Zwischendurch suchen. Auf der anderen Seite hätten dem Buch ein paar Seiten mehr sehr gut getan. Das ganze Buch war ziemlich vorhersehbar, abgesehen von ein paar kleinen Stellen. Das Ende allerdings war ziemlich schnell da und noch dazu ist es sehr offen. Das ist eigentlich nicht besonders schlimm, da es ja definitiv einen Folgeband gibt. Aber ich hätte es mir dann doch ein bisschen abgeschlossener gewünscht. Denn eigentlich ist das Ende komplett offen und hat mich so ein bisschen unruhig zurückgelassen. Man tappt also komplett im Dunkeln, bis man Band 2 liest bzw. gelesen hat. Aber eine gute Werbestrategie ist es, denn das Buch werde ich mir auf jeden Fall auch zulegen. ;) Der Sinn davon sollte es aber nicht sein. Bewertung: Mit Together Forever hat Monica Murphy den Beginn einer tollen Young Adult Reihe geschaffen. Inhalt, Charaktere und Schreibstil haben mich überzeugt und so wurde das Buch ganz sschnell für mich zu einer geliebten Sommerlektüre. Allerdings waren viele Stellen sehr vorhersehbar und das Ende war mir einfach zu offen. Deshalb vergebe ich 4 von 5 Füchschen. Decent quick read. Pretty much guessed what Drew was hiding, but I wasn't totally expecting Adele's little secret. Definitely will read the rest of the series.
Drew is used to running away from his feelings. His past has made it difficult for him to trust others in his life, so he mostly lives it alone. Fable is used to being independent. Taking care of her brother and her distant alcoholic mother is her job, but no one is there to take care of her. When Drew is forced to visit his family during a holiday, he hires Fable to go with him and pretend to be his girlfriend. Fable, needing the money, reluctantly agrees and is thrown into his dysfunctional family. The chemistry between Drew and Fable is huge, but they're both broken and unsure. There is a reason why Drew hates it there, and she is determined yet reluctant to find out. I really liked this book and as soon as I finished it, I knew I had to buy the second. Dang cliffhangers. Anyways, I'm not sure what it was, but I was drawn to this book from the first page. I liked both characters a lot and I thought that the author did a great job of developing them. I also love the plot, the twists, and the romance was great, without being too cheesy. I highly recommend this to those who like NA romance books. This book does have swearing and sexual situations so if that bothers you, this may not be the book for you.
I was debating between 4 and 5 stars. I'm still not sure! But I think I'll go with 4.5 stars. The first couple of chapters I was like uhmm it's not calling to me but I kept on reading and was hooked. I thought I had everything figured out, part of it I guessed, but there was just something I wasn't expecting even though there were clues, I could have figured it out but I just never thought about it that way. I liked how Fable never gabe up on him. And Drew he's so sweet and I know it was hard for him, I completely understand and oh that ending! I'm off to the second one now thank God I don't have to wait.

I like the way Monica Murphy wrote the story, it gives both parties perception. I enjoy this book very much. Highly recommended.

And besides, the blurb for One Week Girlfriend totally hooked me in. I really enjoyed Drew and Fable’s romance. They were believable characters, and I loved how Monica Murphy made me feel the angst, the hurt, and the frustration the main characters go through. The title of the book says it all–Fable agrees to be Drew’s fake girlfriend for one week during Thanksgiving break. She’s doing this for money, which she needs to support herself, her younger brother, and their mother who doesn’t give two craps about them. And Drew… well, it’s a mystery why he needs Fable to be his girlfriend. But it most definitely has to do with his parents. When the two of them meet, they don’t like each other at all. But they’re crazy attracted to each other, meaning there’s some intense tension between the two. Over the course of their fake relationship, Fable and Drew grow closer together. They learn each other’s thoughts and secrets. Well, except for Drew’s. Drew’s secret is always hanging over their heads, because it’s just so there. He won’t tell Fable what it is, but she slowly figures it out on her own. It was fairly obvious to me throughout the whole book what exactly happened with Drew. But it was still absolutely heartbreaking to read how much his secret has affected him for years, and still affects him today. I loved reading how Drew and Fable slowly fell for each other. They learn who the other is, what their faults are, and accept them anyway. Drew… “I want this with you, Fable.” I say her name to ground me. To remind me this is happening with Fable. The girl who’s become my life source in a laughingly short amount of time. The girl I’m falling for. and Fable… I’m falling apart. I don’t want to become dependent on Drew, yet it’s too late. I am. Slowly but surely I am and if I don’t stop it soon, my heart will become so entwined with his, I know I will literally bleed if we’re ever separated. are absolutely perfect for each other! They compliment each other, they relate to each other, they accept one another, and they’re always there for each other. Drew has a harder time though, because he feels his secret makes him unworthy of Fable. But this sweet, lovable man is just so good to Fable! And he is so freaking sexy when he wants to be, which is all the time around Fable. ;) I really enjoyed Monica Murphy’s writing! The characters felt real, I could connect with them, and I adored reading their dual POVs. I’m a huge fan of dual POVs between the main characters, and Monica Murphy delivers perfectly. One Week Girlfriend is a fairly quick read, and the majority of the book is about that one week where Drew and Fable fake their relationship. The romance sucked me in and made me feel both the highs and the lows. And there are plenty of both. Monica Murphy is definitely a new adult author to give a try. And I’m so excited for more from this series! Loved this quote! “I want you to be mine, Fable.” Loosening his hold on my wrists, he dips his head, nuzzling my cheek, my nose. It’s the sweetest, sexiest gesture and I moan as I circle my arms around his neck and cradle him close. “I want to be yours,” I answer in a breathy whisper. “I want to belong to you, Drew.
