One with You

One with You Crossfire #5

Sylvia Day — 2016
Gideon Cross. Falling in love with him was the easiest thing I've ever done. It happened instantly. Completely. Irrevocably. Marrying him was a dream come true. Staying married to him is the fight of my life. Love transforms. Ours is both a refuge from the storm and the most violent of tempests. Two damaged souls entwined as one. We have bared our deepest, ugliest secrets to one another. Gideon is the mirror that reflects all my flaws ... and all the beauty I couldn't see. He has given me everything. Now, I must prove I can be the rock, the shelter for him that he is for me. Together, we could stand against those who work so viciously to come between us. But our greatest battle may lie within the very vows that give us strength. Committing to love was only the beginning. Fighting for it will either set us free ... or break us apart.

Wow, what an ending to a great series and to a great story. Eva and Gideon has been with me for a long time now and it feels kind of sad to have to let them go. This final phase in their story was very intense and sad at times but I love how Eva and Gideon still managed to hold onto each other and become even stronger as a couple. I wish there will be a tiny addition to their story where they will have children, it would make everything a thousand times better.

What a damn good book and storyline, how I’m going to miss Gideon and Eva! I’m so happy that after everything they both went through, they managed to get their happy ending. I wish these books could go on and on but knowing that their love for each other was so deep makes it bearable to let them go. 5 stars āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø

Honestly after book 2 you can throw the whole story away. There was just so much information & fluff that didn’t get enough resolution for me. Gideon’s mom was a bitch & that didn’t get fixed. His brother Christopher didn’t come all the way around. Cary & Treys story? No resolution. Evas mom dying, okay WTF. Then we don’t even get to see how she reacts to finding out about her moms past? Then Gideon after he finally tells the Dr. what happened to him he’s suddenly a changed man? After stretching out 5 books long she has the nerves to rush the ending, it’s total bs & I’m underwhelmed. Again the story was good but there didn’t need to be 5 books.

I’m so sad to see these characters go😄 I definitely had a book-hangover after this series and it took me a long time to get it out of my head! I feel like there is still SO much story to tell between the characters as they continue to grow into their lives and relationships, but I do think we leave them at a point where you know they are going to be OK no matter what happens!!! Can’t wait to re-read this series some day! Spice level 🌶🌶🌶🌶 I’m only giving this one 4/5 spice because although the scenes are still there, and equally as hot & heavy as prior books, it doesn’t seem like there was as many of them. I don’t think this is a bad thing at all!!! It fits with their story very well

This books really tied everything together. The way they're relationship because so strong made this all the more great. Being that in sync and trusting with your spouse is what every woman wishes in their marriage. I know I do. I'm so proud of Sylvia Day. She has honestly greats a beautiful group of characters and little social world. I can't wait to read her next book.

They have already gotten married, however the actual ceremony is yet to take place. Nonetheless, Eva is really worried about the book Corine is about to publish and that get mixed with all the issues they already have. They are making progress but Gideon has to trust Eva is not going anywhere and let be an active part of his life. ā€œOne with youā€ was as compelling as all the previous books in this series. The relationship between Eva and Gideon is difficult and they both have complicated pasts that affect their relationship. The story is really nail-biting and it sucks you in right away. However I did had a problem with the ending with this book, as it felt really rushed. In less than four chapters everything changes and I did not really liked the turn it toke. To sum up, ā€œOne with youā€ was a decent ending to a really compelling series.

Originally posted at Booklovers For Life 4.5 STARS It’s been a long time coming, but One with You is finally here – and what a wonderful conclusion to the Crossfire series it is!! Eva and Gideon have grown so much, have put so much effort into their relationship, and you can clearly see the culmination of it all in this final novel. I really can’t believe this series is over! It’s one of my top favorite series of all time, and Gideon is one of my top book boyfriends – I’m going to miss everything about the series so much! I’d built my empire with the past in mind. Now, thanks to her, I would continue to build it for our future. Eva and Gideon are slowly coming public with their marriage, and the fact that these two are so much more stable and mature than they were when they first met makes everything so much easier. They have a lot of pressure on them from the paparazzi, from their parents, from their jobs, but as long as they have each other, they can handle anything and everything. I absolutely adored how much character growth and development these two have shown throughout the series, how they worked so hard to overcome their struggles together to make their marriage work. Theirs is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love, a soul-deep connection that people only dream of, and the romance in One with You is just as powerful and intense as it was in Bared to You, if not more. Happiness came in so many forms. Mine was Gideon. ā€œMiss me,ā€ he ordered. I blew him a kiss. ā€œAlways.ā€ Gideon is as perfect and sexy as ever. Eva is as awesome and fiery as ever. I love these two so, so much! There’s a lot going on in terms of the plot of this book, but any time it was just Eva and Gideon, I had hearts in my eyes. They can be so flirty and fun yet raw and passionate – Sylvia Day writes these two characters in such a way that they feel so real and genuine. They never once lose that spark that makes their characters shine. Marriage suddenly didn’t seem like enough to safeguard what she meant to me. Why wasn’t there something more binding than a mere piece of paper that gave me the right to call her my wife? Vows were a promise, but what I needed was a guarantee that every day of my life would have her in it. I wanted my heart to beat in rhythm with hers and stop when hers did. Inextricably entwined, so I would never live even a moment without her. I loved the way things ended for Gideon and Eva. Do we get the answers to every single question we have about the rest of the characters? No… but I honestly felt pretty okay with that. Yes, I would’ve loved getting Cary’s full story, or even Eva’s father’s story – but I feel like if everything wrapped up picture perfect, it wouldn’t have felt genuine. The Crossfire series is very much about Gideon and Eva, and I can’t complain about how their story ends. It took skill to write such a satisfying conclusion for such a sweeping, all-encompassing romance as Gideva’s, and of course Sylvia Day didn’t disappoint! Blog | Twitter | Instagram Gideon dipped his head down to kiss me, his mouth moving gently, his tongue licking leisurely, reaffirming the bond between us that grew stronger every day. The ghosts of our pasts seemed like faint shadows now, beginning to dissolve even before we’d renewed our vows. One day, they would vanish forever. Until then, we had each other. And that was all we needed. For years, fans have watched Eva Trammel and Gideon Cross fall in lust, in love and fall out with one another. We’ve cried with them, loved with them and watched in anticipation of their next chapter–now, it’s time to say goodbye. One with You promises to be a lot of things: steamy and romantic, new and charming, dramatic. In so many ways Sylvia Day crafts the perfect final chapter for our lovers and wraps up some story-lines from the past, as well as one final blockbuster mystery. They’re all changing and growing completely as the story wraps itself up nicely. If you were to crack open the first novel and skim through it, even for a moment, before picking up this last one you’ll see quickly how much growth has happened. Whether you’re talking about Gideon, or Eva, or Cary–so much has changed and developed, it’s hard to believe the story takes place for only a small frame of time. Continued: here
