Reviews

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Only One Forever is the eighth book in the Only One series. I was eager for this story. Been following the series from the start and I was curious how Madison would handle the story for the couple featured in this installment. The romance featured here is complicated. Our couple grew up together. They are best friends and cousins via adoption. The hero was adopted by the heroine’s uncle when he was ten years old. Read on for my views on the latest installment in the Only One series. Dylan and Alex were childhood friends. They became a part of each other’s lives when Alex’s uncle adopted Dylan when he was ten years old. Since then, they have been inseparable. Dylan currently lives in Canada where he plays hockey, but his dreams of success for his team came to an abrupt end and he needs to reassess his life both professionally and personally. He turns to the one person whom he knows will provide him with insight on how best to proceed. However, turning to his best friend Alex for advice created a maelstrom of emotions that could destroy their friendship, damage family connections, or give them a happy forever. 'Not only am I in love with her but there is also nothing that I can do … I know I will never ever be able to love her like I want to. I know if I say anything to her, I risk never being able to be next to her again. I risk never getting to see her smile again. I risk never getting to hear her laughter anymore. I risk living the rest of my life without her in it. And it’s a risk I’m not willing to take. I’d rather love her from afar in secret than not at all. It’s a sacrifice I’m going to have to make, and I know that I’ll never get over her.' The story was good, and I enjoyed getting to know the characters and reconnecting with those from the previous books. It elicited some tearful moments with the emotional scenes Madison introduced in relation to the issues of adoption. One would be hard-pressed to not have feelings of empathy for a little boy abandoned by his mother. This aspect of the story was gut wrenching read. I was interested in seeing how the story would develop and seeing these characters really come together. However, the story didn’t turn out as I expected it to, as it relates to the romance. This time around, I did not connect with the romance, as I normally do with this author. I am not sure why, but it lacked the authenticity I am used to from her other romance novels. They had zero chemistry. The intimate scenes were hot, but it felt more like a friend with benefits situation rather than a couple head over heels in love. Despite having issues with the romance, I enjoyed the camaraderie between the characters. Family connections and friendship played a significant role. It was great seeing how the author portrayed these connections. “I helped raise you.” He swallows back the tears. “The man you are is the man I had hoped that Alex would find.” Although not my favourite, Only One Forever had elements I enjoyed. I recommend this to fans of hockey romance and friends to lovers trope. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

3.5*, It was a good book but it was a bit repetitive

It was a super sweet strangers to lovers to parents to soulmates story. I wish it had a bit more drama like the other stories in this series but the smut scenes were amazing. The story was sweet and it was a nice read. I subtracted 2 stars for lack of umph.

Very spicy very sweet. Really good spice scenes. Hockey romances are known as my sweet spot. I feel like there were some unspoken boundaries that were crossed possibly but sweet sweet single dad best friend to lovers book. Might have even been the best in the series.

This was a spicy hot read. The spice scenes were written beautifully. Love an empowered independent sex positive queen. And a misunderstood bad boy cinnamon roll king. The drama could've been way better, it happened too late in the read and was for some reason rarely talked about and dropped randomly. But overall CHEFS KISS.

Well I'm trying to have a baby with my husband and also am a slut for hockey smut so I thought a baby hockey romance was gonna be right up my alley, but it did fall short. 70% of the book was them talking to or about the baby. Which I don't mind it some, but 70% come on... I'm not a huge fan of pregnancy trope but don't mind single dad trope. This was over load.... the romance story was nice and the few spice scenes were great. But fell short. Gonna complete the series later on, haven't lost hope but idk if I'd recommend.

The first book had me wondering if I wanted to continue the series and I bite the bullet and decided to just try it and I am SO HAPPY that I did. I loved this book so much. I had an attachment to both the male and female main characters. The story was believable because from past times I know past trauma can affect relationships in the now. I loved how to the drama was overwhelming in the book, screamed the the main characters in thr car while driving (in the best way possible), and made me change my opinion on the series. I love a drunk admission to liking the other, one date only, and not enemies but not friends either to lovers. And the steamy scenes are so well written. LOVED IT.

Only One Love by Natasha Madison is the seventh book in the Only One series. I have been following the series from the start and looked forward to diving into the latest installment. It may not have been what I had hoped, based on prior experience with the series, but I still had a good time with it. Read on to learn my reasons for recommending Only One Love. As mentioned earlier, Only One Love didn’t completely live up to my expectations. It took me sometime to fully engage with the main characters. Fortunately, the deeper into the story one goes, one learns to appreciate them both and relate to what makes them tick. I had a good time seeing how they came together. Frances and Bradley are total opposites. Frances knows what it means to be part of a loving family, while Bradley had a troubled childhood. An absentee father and a mother who never showed him unconditional love. Despite this, he successfully forged a career in hockey. The media dubs him the bad of hockey. He gained the bad boy moniker because of fights he unwittingly ends up in while on the rink. The relationship between Frances and Bradley began as a one-night stand which occurred prior to the start of this book. They probably never expected their paths to cross again, but given the fact they shared the same circles, meeting again was inevitable. At the point of reconnection, their chemistry exploded off the pages. The romance which developed was spicy and filled with lots of heat. Now, I don’t mind a spicy romance, but it would have been nice to have a greater amount of emotional connection. I thought the hero was more emotionally invested in the relationship. The synopsis mentioned a scandal. A scandal meant to cause damage brought the couple closer. It's such a pity the person behind it paid the consequences for their actions, but no course of action was taken against this person. Overall, Only One Love delivery a sassy, light and sexy romance sprinkled with humour. I am eager for more of this series and can’t wait to see what next the author has in store for fans of the series.

this was ok. i mean it had potential but it was cute

*Received ARC in exchange for an honest review* Rating: 4.5 Stars! https://bookboyfriendsdoitbetter.com/ ok ok ok ok. Book 2 was kind of a bust for me BUT FEAR NO MORE ME. I *adore* this book. I read it in one sitting. I fell in love with Manning and Evelyn immediately- well, I fell in love with Manning in bok one but whatever. I was super worried about this book because as I said, book 2 was kind of a bust (for me). But I seriously got hooked immediately. The writing was so good and AH THESE CHARACTERRRS. Manning is just absolutely perfect. *chef's kiss*. I would 100% recommend. His character is so sweet and loving, and the love he has for his son just makes me tear up every time, because OH MY GOD did I hate his wife. I will say though, that if you hate cheating in books, I would be super cautious going into this. It doesn't bother me often so I was just really curious as to how it would be handled, but wow, I loved it. I really liked how it was handled. Evelyn was a really nice character and THE THING SHE DID AT THAT ONE MOMENT THAT I CAN'T SAY, really cemented how great her character is. I really wish I could have 3 more Manning and Evelyn books. I finished this book way too quick and I need more.

*Received ARC in exchange for an honest review* Rating: 3.5 Stars! https://bookboyfriendsdoitbetter.com/ I liked Miller and Layla but I think my expectations were too high because they didn' quite meet them. I had a fun time reading this book but I definitely preferred book 1. I love Natasha Madison's writing so far and I liked the story, I just couldn't connect with the characters much. I've talked to a few friends who also had an arc and I know they love the grandma but oh man she really annoyed me. I've read other books with a similar character in it but I just felt like the grandma in this one was so over-exaggerated and found myself rolling my eyes whenever she did or said something. I know it sounds so far like I didn't like this book at all but I did lol. I enjoyed all the side characters, the writing, and the way some things were set up for the next book. I just didn't find myself connecting to Miller and Layla. I liked that Layla had her own sports radio show because as far as I know, being a female in the sports world is rough so I was glad that we got to see her thriving but not in an unrealistic way. Miller was a fun character. I liked that we got to see him trying to win over Layla but not by changing who he is. He matured slightly throughout the course of the book but at his core, he was still the same person.

*Received ARC in exchange for an honest review* Rating: 5 Stars! https://bookboyfriendsdoitbetter.com/ Ok but this book completely took me by surprise. I wasn't sure about the writing style at first but Ralph and Candace quickly made me forget about it. I'm still a bit sketch on the writing style but the characters stole my attention and I have several different characters whose stories I'm wanting. But now, let's get real. I *despise* the name, Ralph. I don't see a hot guy when I see "Ralph", you know what I see? Wreck-it Ralph, that's who I see. And for that, I solely, 1000000% blame the romance community and all the Maddox's, Colt's, Nico's, and all the other hot guy names lol. They have brainwashed me into expecting and wanting those overused, I'm-a-bad-boy-even-though-I'm-actually-sweet-names. But really, Ralph is the whole ass package. He managed to steal my heart even with his terrible name. I got to a point in the book where I just wanted to keep reading because I wanted him to get the girl. No, I NEEDED him to find his HEA with Candance. I'm also pretty sure this is a spin-off series so now I need to immediately read the other books! Candace kept referencing how she had been a huge b*tch in the past so now I'm really curious to see her past self. I really enjoyed Candace though! She is so independent and disciplined. I did want to see more of her working (we heard more about her working than "seeing" her working) but I guess for plot purposes, I can understand, kind of. While there isn't any actual hockey, because of the break the players are currently in, I'm glad I've found a new hockey romance author! I've been having a hard time finding more hockey series I like. I do hope that we get more hockey in future books though, it's a big reason why I read hockey romances.

*Received ARC in exchange for an honest review* Rating: 4 Stars! bookboyfriendsdoitbetter.com Nico and Becca were just so lovely! Nico has had my attention from book 1 and I'm so glad we got his book! Becca, by far, is my favorite MC of this series! She is strong, independent, and just all around AMAZING! She was my favorite part about this book and I can already see myself rereading this book soon! The reason I went with 4 stars is that I felt the story was a bit too short. The relationship between Nico and Becca felt just a little bit too rushed and I would have loved to see them get to know each other more as love-interests (since they know each other from work).

Despite loving the Only One series, doubts arose about Only One Mistake, book number 6. This was due in part to the featured trope, surprise/accidental pregnancy. However, the fears were for naught. Learning the circumstances behind the reason the hero did not know of the heroine’s pregnancy made it easier to appreciate the story. The decision to stick with it despite initial reservations proved to be a good one. I enjoyed all the books in the series and this was one was no exception.
This installment introduces Michael Horton, son of Max Horton, from Something So Irresistible, story. Michael was recently traded to the Dallas Oilers because of the disharmony with his previous coach.
On his first night in his town, he meets a beautiful lady, Jill Ian, who unfortunately had been stood up by her blind date. Out of sympathy for her situation, he offered to salvage her night. Soon they were having a great time together, which led to the steamiest the two had ever experienced. Unfortunate circumstances led to them losing contact with each other. They may have lost contact physically, but they were never far from each other’s thoughts.
Fast forward five months later. Michael receives the shock of his life when picking up his nieces from school. The woman who haunted his dreams was their teacher, and she was pregnant.
I had a blast with this one. Michael was such a great guy. He never hesitates to take up his responsibility. The moment he discovered his imminent fatherhood, he was all in. The way he treated Jillian made me swoon. Aww, so adorable and romantic.
I admired Jillian for her independence and strength. It could not have been easy finding out she was pregnant and not being able to locate the man responsible. She handled the situation like a champ, especially the moment Michael came back in her life.
The thing that stood out most for me was the manner in which Michael’s family embraced Jillian. They brought levity to the story with their snarky comments. They also brought a warm and comfy vibe to the story with their love and support.
The romance which developed between Michael was endearing and slow-burning. They clearly cared about each other, but fears and insecurities stood in the way. They shared sweet, endearing, and captivating moments. Watching them navigate their journey into parenthood and finding love in the process warmed my heart.
I enjoyed coming back to this world. However, I wish they would all stop smirking. What is it with everyone and their smirks? So annoying.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Only One Mistake is a heartwarming, swoon worthy romance which appeals to fans of the genre.

3.5

I guessed the conflict early on but enjoyed the story non the less. It made me feel so much that at one point I even teared up a bit.

4.75

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I could not wait to get my hands on this little gem. I looked forward to Layla and Miller’s story ever since I met them in Only One Kiss. Four years, that’s how long Miller has been trying to get Layla to give him a chance, but she shot down every attempt he made. Her reasons ranged from not liking him to thinking he was self-absorbed and arrogant. Then the unthinkable happened while in inebriated, she made a bid twenty-five thousand dollars for a date with him at a charity auction. On realizing the following day what she did, she tried many creative ways to get out of the deal, but Miller was not about to let his chance of proving to her he would be worth it to go up in smoke. I had a great time with the second book in Only One series. The books in the series are self-contained, however, the main characters from each installment appear in the all the books. Layla made Miller jump through several hoops prior to giving a chance. She would learn her pre-conceived notions were way ‘off mark. The more time she spent with him she saw a side to him she never would have known if she hadn’t given him a chance. I loved Miller, romantic, caring and thoughtful. Although clueless when it came to dealing with fans of the female persuasion, he eventually learned what was acceptable and what was not for a famous person in a relationship. The fact he attempted to effect changes made him a hero in my eyes. It took me sometime to warm up to Layla and just as I started liking her, I discovered she had a secret, one which almost destroyed what she had begun building with Miller. I couldn’t believe it after all she had put him through. Is not like it was something bad and even if it was, she should have been honest from the moment she recognised that their relationship had become serious. She redeemed herself, but the events showed the importance of honesty in relationships. The story had several laugh out loud moments. My favourite scene involved Miller’s interaction with Layla’s grandmother. I almost fell from my chair the way I laughed so hard. Poor Miller, probably scarred for life, I know I would be if I found myself in such a situation. The author treated her readers to two epilogues. Both were outstanding, but the second one left me salivating for the next book in the series. Now, that one, I can’t wait to see how it will play out. Conclusion/Recommendation Once again Madison created a story which featured relatable characters and one which held my attention from start to finish. If you enjoy romance, which features hot athletes, then Only One Chance would be a great addition to your library. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I have been eagerly awaiting Manning’s story ever since his introduction in the first book of the Only One series. I expected his story to be emotional with a side of drama, and Madison did not disappoint. She delivered all I expected and more. If you found yourself trapped in a loveless marriage with a spouse from hell, who has no intention of letting you go because of the perks associated with being married to you, and who would use your child as a pawn to ensure you stay in line what would be your course of action? This was the case with the main character, Manning, captain of the Dallas Oilers hockey team. His wife, Murielle, refuses to give him a divorce, despite her many affairs, and holds the threat of taking their son away over his head. She enjoyed the perks of being a captain’s wife and had no intention of giving it up. Manning resigned himself to his fate for the sake of his son, a situation which left him miserable and unsociable. Then he met Evelyn and what should have been one night of passion, became much more. Evelyn made him recognise he deserved happiness and needed to take the steps to achieve same. Ah! Manning was so swoon worthy. I admired the way he is always there for his son, Jaxon. His son’s needs took priority and the fact he willingly sacrificed his happiness for him showed he was a great father. However, what I admired most about him was the fact he never once disrespected his wife in front of their son, which I knew took a lot of restraint and patience. His willingness to admit when he was wrong was another trait which I admired about him. He was by no means perfect. He made mistakes, but he owned up to them. Evelyn was a sweetheart. She oozed confidence and strength. I loved her selflessness, which revealed itself in the way put Jaxon’s needs (Manning’s son) above her happiness. She unwittingly found herself in a complicated situation, and I loved how she handled it all. Be prepared to have your emotions tied up if you decide to read this book. I experienced a variety of emotions. Anger, laughter, teary-eyed moments, indifference, you name it; I felt it. This story had enough heat to set my kindle on fire. The chemistry between Evelyn and Manning topped the sexual chemistry charts. Be prepared for some hot and passionate scenes. The genuineness of their feelings for each other radiated through the pages, and it had me rallying for their happiness. Madison’s talent in maintaining a balance of sexy and heartfelt emotion came to light in this installment. I had fun catching up with the characters from the previous books, and as always Miller had me in stitches. I am not on board with cheating, but Manning’s situation fell in a grey area. I understood the dilemma he faced and in this situation I would not pass judgement. Bearing in mind his marriage was on paper only and there was no emotional attachment to his shrew of a wife. I thoroughly enjoyed Only One Night, with its swoon worthy and passionate romance. I can’t wait to get my hands on Nico and Becca’s story, which promises to be an equally exciting read. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Only One Touch the fourth book in the Only One series was a highly anticipated read. The reader went into it with high expectations, and Madison did not disappoint. This book should come with a warning label to prepare readers for the angst, the heat and the toll it would take on their emotions. The reader was familiar with the characters featured in this installment as they appeared in the previous books. Nico is the owner of the Dallas Oilers Hockey Team, which he inherited from his father. The team was in shambles, and he hopes to turn things around by bringing the Stanley cup home to Dallas and making them the number one team in the league. Becca is a top-notch and well sought-after sports agent. Time and time again she has proven why she is one of the best when it came to representing athletes. Goal oriented driven and likes to be in control, which made her the perfect match for Nico. They moved in the same circles and worked together occasionally but shared nothing more until that one touch which changed the dynamics of their relationship. Together, Becca and Nico made a great couple. The heat they generated when in each other’s company had the potential to burn a hole through whichever medium chosen to read this book. The times they spent together was intense, romantic, and swoon worthy. One would think Becca’s need for control would complicate their relationship, but this was not the case. Nico knew how to take charge, which she had a hard time resisting. All appeared to be going well for them as a couple, but then Nico did something that left everyone in shock, the reader included. His actions totally blindsided Becca, and it left them both in a world of pain and hurt. He could have avoided all the pain and heartache caused from his actions if only he had done one thing, communicate. The characters from the previous books made an appearance and it was fun catching up with them. The story which featured characters which readers could relate to and would want to root for proved captivating from start to finish. Overall, a great time was had with Only One Touch. Readers who enjoy steamy romance should definitely add this to their library. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Natasha Madison is fast becoming a favourite and I could not resist signing up to review her latest book. “One kiss is all it takes for me to fall in love with you”. This statement reflects the story told in Only One Kiss, the first book in the Only One series. The story introduces Candace, a social media influencer to the top NHL players. She started out promoting her brother and in no time, she became a well sought-after influencer. She has one rule which has served her well throughout her career, not to get romantically involved with any of her clients. However, rules are sometimes made to be broken. Ralph is learning to juggle fatherhood and hockey after losing his daughter’s mother during childbirth. He lacks social media presence which he needs to gain sponsorship. Candace came recommended, however there was a problem she was not taking on any new clients. Will he be able to convince her to provide the help he needs? Ralph struggles with pain, and guilt over the loss of his daughter’s mother and events from his childhood. He did not have a great life growing up, and hockey offered him the escape he needed. It became his saving grace. He never knew what it meant to love and be loved unconditionally until the birth of his baby girl. Now everything he does is done with her at the forefront of his mind. Candace is the consummate professional. She is kind-hearted, genuine and a joy to be around. She was reluctant to take on Ralph as a client, which was understandable given her attraction to him, but he needed her help. I enjoyed watching her interactions with her family, Ralph and most of all Ari. Ralph’s baby girl. The story featured some interesting and not so stable secondary characters. Ralph’s baby sitter being the unstable one. All I will say on this is she is nuts. I had a wonderful time getting to know the other characters and I am looking forward to reading their stories. Their first encounter revealed an undeniable chemistry between them. Candace was rendered speechless upon laying eyes on the hunky hockey player and his adorable baby. Ralph could not take his eyes off her, which contravened his vow of not getting involved in a relationship. They both tried fighting their insane attraction to each other and thought of every reason they should not get involved, but it only took one kiss to change everything. I enjoy a good slow burn romance and Only One Kiss gave me that and more. The romance that developed was intense and hot enough to cause heart palpitations. Despite the heat there were heart-breaking moments, however I am happy to report it worked itself out. Conclusion/Recommendation Only One Kiss is a well written romance which tugged on the heart and left the reader satisfied and eager for more from this talented author. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
