What would you do if your city's under siege from a foreign invasion?

That's what happened in the story. It's Jerusalem, 1099, on the eve of the Crusaders. They army laid sieges on the great city, and the inhabitants were preparing for battle tomorrow.

The cloud of readiness, anxiety, fear, but also hope, gathered around the city. That's when we met The Copt. A mysterious, wise man whose words enchanted those living in the city. As the storm waiting to tear down the city walls tomorrow, some of its citizens mingled on the city plaza, to hear some words of wisdom from The Copt.

The Copt didn't share about great things, magnificent like the Great Hall of Baghdad or the Grand Mosque of Al-Aqsa, or the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, but instead, he talked about simple, mundane, everyday life. He talked about fear, anxiety, hope, miracle, sex, loyalty, dreams, travel, passion, love.

He talked about inner child. Bravery. He told the audience about courage. The people asked, and the Copt would answered.

Under the sky of Jerusalem, there was a man among people, where it was such consolations for our weak and weary souls, that may have lost the way..
It's like a book embracing your scars and shatters to show you that they are the most precious you got.
Talking wisely about love and war, defeat and failure. Our mental exhaust and the excruciating moments when we are afraid to look up in the mirror.
Also, even though I liked the wisdom and philosophy behind it, I have a concern. Each and every idea stands by itself, there's no connection between the chapters, maybe some repeated points but not a connection in general. Also, the "lecturing way" in giving advice may cause boredom, was supposed to be linked as a novel, or even a book that's about sharing with the two sides.
Overall, I'm satisfied with what I read..

Paulo Coelho onthult in Manuscript uit Accra dat de liefde en kennis die we in onszelf vinden bepalen wie we zijn en niet de tegenslag in ons leven, wat we vrezen, of hopen voor onze toekomst. angst bestaat al zolang als de mens bestaat. En omdat we hem nooit de baas zullen kunnen, zullen we ermee moeten leren leven zoals de mens ook met stormen heeft leren leven.
