The Study Guide and Reader features information to help students focus their learning including (1) a chapter overview, (2) discussions of common student beliefs and misconceptions to alert students to widely held beliefs that may interfere with effective learning, (3) focus questions for students to answer as they read the chapter, and later test themselves about their comprehension of chapter content, (4) application exercises to give students practice in recognizing concepts and principles in action in children's and teacher's behaviors, (5) chapter glossary, and (6) sample test questions.
