another series from penny reid that i will devour hdkshsjs excited to read cyrus' story 🥸 4.75 ☆

Rating: 5 stars! Penny Reid seriously knows how to write lovable quirky characters. She has such a notable writing style and characters and I fall in love every single time😭 Homecoming King is exactly what I needed while in the middle of a reading slump! Abby and Rex were freaking amazing and I wish we could have more books about them. I'm not the biggest fan of holiday books but this was just the correct amount of holiday. I'm so ready for the next 2!

Sweet and sexy read. It’s a basically Neanderthal Seeks Human update, but I did not mind.

Take one romantic but jaded divorcee, add a cursed football hottie and add a childhood crush and you get a marriage of convenience with a heaping with humour! I am a sucker for a grumpy hero, one that has a hidden heart of gold of killer sense of humour that he doesn't let everyone see - that's Rex. Abby is arty, good-natured and naive without being a sap, she just has a really poor choice in husbands. But she was essentially crapped on by the gods in her teenage years so she needs a happy ending desperately! I don't automatically read sports star romances but there are a few authors who will always entice me, including Ms Reid. I was completely sucked into the world and even learned something about America Football, shock horror! Be warned once Rex starts talking he has a very talented, dirty mouth! Can't wait to see what happens next, I'm hoping it's a certain movie star, cos he needs his comeuppance for being a conniving wingman LOL

5/5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #HomecomingKing is this perfect little gift to end the year! I never wanted it to end! It had the perfect amount of slow-burn, and we all know that slow-burn can often be way too slow. I fell in love with these characters, I wanted to protect them from all possible harm! Abby was so lovely and just so different. She's made the characters around her feel at ease. She was so kind and sometimes that's a quality that's hard to write because you want strong characters that aren't doormats. Abby is definitely not that! She was sassy and fun. I loved her character development and how she learned to ask for what she wanted. I never felt like she was the type of character that felt sorry for herself, even though if she had it would have been justified. 😊 Rex, my beautiful SINnamon roll. It was love at first sight for me when I got introduced to Rex. I wanted to protect him at all costs. He was sweet, charming among other things hence why he went from cinnamon roll to cinnamon roll status, and I was all for it. He was not what I expected, he was more vulnerable than a lot of characters I've read and I loved him more for it. He genuinely cared about people and that was very nice to see. 💖 I really liked the supporting characters! Walker was so nice, Kay lee was fun and I want to learn more about Cyrus and Alaric! 🤩 Like I mentioned this was a slow-burn and I loved that the conflict is the underlying reason for the slow-burn in the book. It made the ending feel worth it. This book has one of my favorite love confessions ever! It was so great, I can't wait to go back and reread it. Finding out the real reason why Rex's "TW" nickname bothered him was also something unexpected not because it's out of character but because it's such a Rex thing. There were so many moments where I felt so much for Abby and what she was feeling. That's all credit to #pennyreid's amazing writing!🥰 Overall, Homecoming King is one of the best things I've read this year. It made me happy and so sad when it was over. I can't wait for the next book in the Three Kings Series! This book is out December, 14 do yourself a favor and get yourself a copy! 😁
