I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you T.M. Frazier! Frazier owns my soul with her words. Fro her debut novel, The Dark Light of Day that I read in High School, to this one, her words enchant and break me at the same time. Her stories are raw. She is not afraid to write difficult scenes. She is not afraid to tackle certain subjects and write is plot twists that you will NEVER see coming. She is a true author. This book was angsty as all hell and I could not put it down. This story was original and fresh. Heart wrenching and honest. It was also written beautifully. So many great lines weaved into the writing. Frazier’s writing style is fast-paced and riveting, yet she also takes a step back sometimes to write a passage that will change the pace and wow the reader. Her writing is concise and of good quality. Tricks and Grim are amazingly complex characters. I live their history and their present. It’s interesting and unique, but also has a sense of familiarity as a modernized classic romance trope. Frazier’s character development is on point for this novel. I definitely recommend this and ANY of Frazier’s books to everyone!
