It's obvious from the title what's really going on, even if it isn't obvious for Dylan. It's fun to see her fall in love and then have the big reveal. It's also fun to have this extra fictional leeway with alternate Scotland. It was frankly more fun than squeezing in another Luxembourg sized fictional kingdom in Europe to make this plot work.

If this is how I’m going to start if 2018, 2018 is going to be a bloody brilliant reading year! This was such a sweet tale of young love and adventure in Scotland but also learning who you really are! An AMAZING read!

I won’t deny that this book was entertaining and fluffy but it was also a little too much. Too much drama, too much reality TV, everything felt too exaggerated and unrealistic... but I guess that’s the point.

I liked the romance of Dylan and Jaime. They were very sweet together and were the realistic of the bunch, not pretentious or fake. And I do love a boy who likes fictional friends more than actual ones and can bring Bronte into a conversation, but when he starts quoting Dylan Thomas, EE Cummings and Yeats, it just went too much over my head. 

It’s still a cute love story that you can enjoy on a rainy day with a cup of hot chocolate.

I will admit the first half of this book was okay. I did enjoy it, but it did not wow me. I thought the book overall had very slow pacing and it took me awhile to feel totally connected to the characters but by the end of the book I was totally engaged and loved the characters. I really did liked the reality tav show element and also the over the pond adventure. Dusty took a while to grow on me. I found the end to be such a fun suprise and it def made me enjoy the book a lot more. I would even re-read this book again. I hope to read more this author in the future.

Southern Today Gone Tomorrow

           Written by Stephanie Kate Strohm, this novel follows Dylan, the sister to a reality TV star and Miss Mississippi. Who is getting, very publicly, married to a Scottish Lord. And of course there is a young gentleman for Dylan as well.

This was a sweet story that was a pleasure to read. The characters were odd and mostly shallow, so this isn't the next great novel, but it was so enjoyable. Very pleasant to read a light hearted story. A love story appropriate for all ages, I would happily give this to a younger cousin and tell them to look for someone like Jamie, Dylan's love interest. He is odd, and sweet, and not a jerk.

So, those are my short thoughts and who would like this - an all ages love story.

I knew as soon as we saw Jamie that he would be a love interest. And from the start I thought he was the prince. Prince in Disguise is the TV show where Dusty and her man met. And the fiance is so shallow and poorly developed that I can't remember his name. Rowan? Ronan? Something like that. He and Dusty are really not developed at all.

And I don't get why Dylan is forced to be on the TV show? Why would you ever sign your child up for something like that when they can't duck out?

What made this story good was Dylan and Jamie's relationship. That is kind of it. I wish it would have just been that with out the reality TV bit.

Still enjoyed it.
