"Life imitates art far more than art imitates Life." Oscar Wilde Author Nicola Royse dreamed of Scottish Highlanders as a teen then wrote about them as an adult. Always looking but never finding her own White Knight, she still held out hope that he would one day ride up on his trusty steed. He rode up all right, on a silver Harley with heat in his eyes and a detective's badge on his hip while she and her friends plotted her first contemporary romantic suspense. Of course, life couldn't' imitate art without a killer on the loose, one that had Nicola and her friends in his sights. Detective Dallas Vaughn dedicated his life to catching killers. Then one day he bumped into the girl-next-door, and all that changed. Now he's her White Knight fighting against a Dark Prince . . one who would love to see her dead. Rated R for language, violence, and sexual content.

Check out this and my other reviews at My Blog, Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Pinterest ★Book Basics★ Genre : - Contemporary Romance Series : - Stand Alone Love triangle? - (view spoiler)[No (hide spoiler)] Cheating? - (view spoiler)[No (hide spoiler)] HEA? - (view spoiler)[Yes (hide spoiler)] Would I read more by this author? - I say no, but for some reason I keep trying with this author Rating - 3 guilty stars. ★Review★ Ok, first off, let me explain my 3 guilty stars. I have read this author before, and had problems with her, and been determined to not read her again. Yet here I am, AGAIN! Hence it is more a 2 stars but I do know I should probably give up on this author so feel mean 2 starring in all honesty. I always really love the idea of the story, but then the execution leaves a lot to be desired, with some utter ridiculousness. (ie from previous books, clumsy heroines jumping from a moving train, or in another book running around woods at night with glow in the dark vibrators) Here we had a flipping lesson in what catfishing was, (as you know the book is just sooooooooo with the times) which read a bit like a Wikipedia entry at one point. The heroine has not got a man as "men just are not raised to be men these days" which was repeated eleventy billion times. Men these days are "sensitive, gentle, in touch with their feelings.." The horror! Oh and she was of the opinion that "it's in our genetic makeup to rely on men" Oh and her and her "writers brain" got annoying very quick. Oh, and her unique writers block she had, which was not in actual fact writers block AT ALL. It was actually just an excuse for her to be a shitty friend and ignore her friends for months as her "unique writers block" meant she forgot the world around her. And the whole "Picture this..." business quite frankly was doing my nut in by the second time we had it. Look, I can see where the author is trying to go with these characters, they are meant to be funny ditzy quirky heroine, and brooding alpha men. However the OTT insta lust, ridiculous situations meaning to add comedic value (ie spilling food on the poor hero the first few times you see him) TSTL heroine just lead to a book I find myself rolling my eyes at more than actually enjoying. But I really do not know why I keep trying, maybe as so many other love her, and they do, so i think I must be missing something. But really, she has probably had enough of my money by now, and I need to stay away. And I am going to link to a GR friends review ~ Becs ~'s Reviews and just reiterate what she says. If you want to read a book that is very similar but so much better done, than read . I read this a few years back and love it so much.
