Pucked Up

3/5 I like it but I lost interest by chapter 20. It was a good read though!

I cringe every time I hear the word Beaver now.

This books was such an easy but emotional read. From the first page to the last one I was so heartbroken for Lance and the way Tash treated him and his mom. When Poppy was mentioned in second book, cleaning that penis off of Miller's forehead I was hoping she ends up being Lance's love interest and not Tash. Poppy and Lance are perfect for each other and they are along with Randy and Lily (sorry to the other two couples) my favourites.

Good concept, poorly executed. HIGHLY cringe-worthy writing. Spice scenes were mild but written alright. Eh.

OH Lance!

This book was filled with a lot of humor, which I really enjoyed. Helena Hunting definitely has a unique voice. While cliché and a little silly at times, I think this book is a cute romance and has some really nice moments. I know there's a bunch more in this series, which I may or may not pick up, but this stand alone is great if you want something easy and cute to read.

i wanna love this so bad. i tried. really. i dnf’d this twice so,,, anyway, shoutout to my boy alex for being a softie in a sports romance amidst so many alpha males in this kind of genre or in romance genre in general i guess,,, (i mean i hope he was consistent in being one wheew) i love how he’s a softie esp when the first time that they did,,,it,,, he was just so caring and always make sure she’s okay. consent 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 the 👏🏻 key👏🏻 maybe i dnf’d this bc of the writing?? and/or whatever something violet says sometimes?? and/or how the story progresses???

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. This book was hilarious and amazing. Hockey romance always has a soft spot in my heart, and I can never get enough. If you love adorable romance and hot sex then this is for you... and you need to read it, like right now.

4 Stars! Hi BookLovers, 4 Stars? I know I know but I'm sorry, it was good I swear, it's beautiful and amazing but I have a hard time with the storyline giving Charlene past is quite a blur for most of the story till the end. I was lost at first thought I could get my head in Darren and Charlene Romances but I tried and I love it. But as much as I like to give it 5 stars I don't think it really struck me out like other characters in the pucked series. BUTTTTTTTTT, Come on we all know how HOT AND DEMANDING DARREN CAN BE RIGHT!? He is like the opposite of Alex. He is all dark and very alpha and private and he only shares himself with Charlene and that makes this story something I looked up to. It's just two damage people that love each other completely like they are born with a full heart. Highly Recommended :)

5 Pucked Up Stars! Hi BookLovers, I can't get enough of Randy and Lily!!!! Usually, I'm not into beard man but with Randy? OMG! I just can't get enough of him. He's just so fucking hot and damn needy and his jealousy is sexy. I even listen to the audiobook once I finish with the books. Oh! You know I'm obsessed like that. I'm not going spoil any more of this but I seriously In love with this. I'm sorry that I take the time to read this series but I can't wait to finish all of it asap. Highly Recommended! :)

" I love this! This book is different from others. First of all, it was from the Hero (Miller or Buck) Point of View. I mean usually, we read from the Heroin Point of View but this is different. It’s refreshing. And, Buck and Sunny are already dating at the beginning of the book. Although it was a sports romance it was also rom-com. I mean it was hilarious. Some of the chapters are funny. Apart from Sunny and Buck, Vi and Buck have an interesting relationship and it’s cute how close they are together. I really really love this! Highly Recommended! :)

4 Stars! Yeah okay, so Ummm well I guess Lance & Darren is not really my kind of Alpha man, isn't it? Haha, but he was, Lance. He was everything we want in a man, except that he was once a player. But not after he met Poppy tho but what can I say I'm a sucker for a Hockey Player. I'm also almost done with this Series but I know probably gonna re-read everything again because the whole series is fun to read. And I probably gonna get my physical copy for each book too. Highly Recommended! :)

5 BEAUTIFULLY PUCKED STARS! Hi BookLovers, I am seriously pucked right now! I mean come on man why does all this damn Hockey Player in Pucked Series have to be so damn Pantied Melting HOT?!!! I just can't move on from any of them and I can't even choose who I like the most. It's like eating me here. I know that I kinda read everything backward but dude this series is the boom. I don't even know if anybody found Violet No Filter is annoying but I kinda like it. It makes the story more interesting and funny. I mean not all-female characters have to be quiet and shy right? It's good to have something different. And, Alex a.k.a Mr. Big MC oh you will know what that means if you read the book. I like that he is a relaxed romantic alpha. But dirty talker! Well! I not going to spoil it too much but you guys should read it. Highly Recommended! :)

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance Pucked by Helena Hunting is the first book in her Pucked series. I will be honest, even with my love of Hockey, I haven't read too many hockey romances. After listening to an author interview on a podcast, I really wanted to read a Helena Hunting and I thought I would start with Pucked, one of the more established books from her that is highly popular. I found this book in the Audible Romance Package and I am so glad that I took a chance on this author because even though this book isn't perfect....it was a fantastic book that I devoured. If you are new to Helena Hunting, I highly recommend this book. Pucked begins with our heroine, Violet Hall. Her step brother has signed with a new NHL team based in Chicago. Thanks to her step brother, she knows the reality of what hockey players really are and what players they are especially when there are any puck bunnies involved. While going to the first game to see her step brother in action, she catches the eye of one stunning hockey player...the team captain and the star of the game...Alex Water. She is caught by his beautiful eyes and while at the after party with her family, she finds herself being thoroughly kissed by Alex who isn't afraid of her weird nervous antics or her love of literature.  But she knows what hockey players are like and she doesn't want to be played by Alex. But Alex slowly works down her barriers and before even realizing she is jumping head first into a relationship with Alex. But she wonders if she will be enough for Alex or is his career more important... What a great book this turned out to be and man I loved both of these character. Both Alex and Violet are wonderful characters that worm their way into your heart. Now at first, I was curious to see how the author would handle the hockey sport angle. Some authors when writing sport themed romances don't always give enough focus on the sport and yeah Helena Hunting knows her hockey and I really liked seeing it implemented in this book so very seamlessly. It makes you want to watch the sport, that is how well it is done in this book. I would like to point out that its not overdone though, the focus of the book is, of course, the romance. Alex isn't your typical hockey player and isn't the playboy that everyone thinks that he is. He is pretty down to earth surprisingly. Yes he has this big rumor about him and yes he was a bit of one when he first was signed on his team, but he has matured here and we see the way that he is a good leader on his team even if his temper sometimes gets the better of him on the ice. I love his relationship with his family, especially his sister. He is a sweet talker though and knows how to talk to Violet and he can be so thoughtful and a bit foolish too. He is a man and a bit of an idiot at times especially toward the end...but boy he knows how to grovel so WELL!! And he definitely redeems himself fully. Violet, is smart and sassy but socially awkward in certain situations and sexual innuendoes tend to pop out of her mouth at random times. She is quirky and a bit of a nerd but is sweet natured. She is slow to trust, hasn't had the best luck in relationships and doesn't look at hockey players very highly thanks to her playboy of a step brother. We see how she battles within herself to open herself to Alex. She wants to believe that he is sincere, but just doesn't know what to believe. Violet is a heroine that you can admire though. She is just getting settled with her career as an accountant, wears glasses and loves to read and is not ashamed to be sexually aware. The romance that develops between Violet and Alex are full of ups and down but boy I loved seeing them get the ending that they both deserve in the end. On the first look at this pairing, you don't think that they would fit like they do. They are a bit different from each other, however, they really balance each other out and boy the sex is HOT yet silly and fun at times too. I can’t wait to have my mouth on you again. I’m gonna eat you like I’m on death row and you’re my last goddamned meal. There is such unique dynamics that come into play in their relationships and misunderstandings that happen from time to time. But you see how much they are into each other, and are making a go of their relationship and not caring what others think. It has a bit of a forbidden feel, but not super strong, but Violet's step brother doesn't want them together and Violet....she is badass when it comes to handling her brother because he is a bit of a hypocrite. Both Alex and Violet are smart and intellectuals though so it adds some depth to the relationship....more than you see from most sport themed romances. And yes we have a big HUGE scenario that happens at the end....because its a romance and something has to happen right? Especially in a contemporary romance. However, I really fan girl over Alex and the way he makes amends with Violet. He definitely does it in the best way that makes Violet see the real Alex and that he makes mistakes but he never falters in his love to her and I just adored seeing his devotion to Violet and never giving up on her. Overall Pucked is a sensational romance that is packed with sexy times, fun and flirty moments that leaves you with a smile and such character depth to keep you wanting more....a love story to leave you giddy and wanting your own pucked type of love!! this relationship is such a mystery to be throughout the series. In the beginning, I thought this was gonna be about bdsm and the two year time-jump was jarring but the book surprised me with a beautiful love between Charlene and Darren where two broken people become whole again by loving each other as well as learning how to love. Reading about Darren figuring out how to be in a relationship and trying to understand Charlene was endearing. He's so attentive and such a softie for Charlene. omg when Darren wasn't able to see Charlene and he missed her, he would go through her tabbed parts of her romance books she had at his house. He found out that all of her tabbed parts were not smut but those cute romantic parts AND I RELATED SOOOO MUCH TO HER!! Even though love is difficult for Charlene to experience bc of her trauma/who she is, she still wants love. felt that! (view spoiler)[ idk what was more interesting the reveal of Charlene's past or what her candies really are lol btw Charlene and Darren are forsure my favorite proposal story (hide spoiler)] Favorite quotes "Sometimes the most broken souls find each other as if their missing pieces exist in another person." "Even though it’s fiction, it gives me hope that even the most messed up people can find someone to love them."

Violet and Alex are such a cute match! Like they both word vomit when they're nervous and have the same weird sense of humor. they're just such dorks Alex Waters is such a major simp for Violet with lowkey stalkery vibes but I guess it's his tenacity lol. Alex sending her too many flowers to the point where she knows the flower delivery guy (and also developing a crush on Violet omg) GUSH actually him sending her hella gifts especially gift cards is just heart eyes "She’s my Q on a triple word score" the scrabble nerd in me loved this line

I liked Lance and Poppy's relationship progression. I'm so glad Lance found a safe home and the happy ending he deserves with Poppy after all that toxic

It was fine. I’m a hockey fan, so I always love a good sports romance. Very cliché, won’t be a book I remember.

Esta série era tão tola que, por vezes, pensava porque raio é que a estava a ler. Quando cheguei a este livro, concluo: POR ESTA HISTÓRIA!!! O melhor casal, sem dúvida. Ler uma história onde FINALMENTE foi o protagonista que saiu de uma relação tóxica onde a ex-namorada abusava psicologicamente dele? Foi uma lufada de ar fresco tão bem-vinda. A protagonista e a paciência dela e a dedicação a ajudar o protagonista a utrapassar tudo o que aconteceu na última relação mesmo quando ela própria está a passar pelos seus problemas e dilemas pessoais. Adorei a Poppy e o Lance e só queria mais e mais deles.

Não é mau nem bom mas é tãaaaaaaaaao divertido que, meu Deus... Senti que as personagens principais desta história (ao contrário de todos os casais) tinham problemas tão ridiculas que eu acho mesmo que a autora queria ter piada e divertir-se a escrever o livro. Quando li o primeiro desta série, mal podia esperar para chegar a este já que o casal está junto desde o livro 1 e só podemos saber a história deles no 6 e nem sei porque é que a autora demorou tanto a escrever sobre eles (não há nenhuma razão). Enfim, diverti-me imenso só esperava que a série tivesse um final melhor depois de ler o 5 que foi TÃO bom.

No início, foi difícil habituar-me ao Miles como narrador especialmente por no primeiro livro ele ser constantemente denominado como "burro" e "yeti". No desenrolar da história, vamos percebendo que era o objetivo da autora: julgarmos que o Miles era mesmo essa pessoa tola, despreocupada e superficial quando, na verdade, ele é muito mais do que isso. A abordagem das dificuldades que uma pessoa desléxica sofre e o estigma de que todos os atletas são burros e superficiais é o que torna o livro diferente do anterior onde ambos os protagonistas eram inteligentíssimos e nerds. Porém, a química entre os protagonistas era completamente oca e a Sunny era demasiado aborrecida e dramática mas acho que o erro foi não termos acesso ao ponto de vista dela para compreender alguns pensamentos e ações da mesma. Apesar disso, esta série é divertidíssima e ambiente do hóquei continua a ser um dos meus cenários favoritos para livros com desporto.
