Autobiography of this bushman, grazier, businessman and folk hero was first published in 1984. Describes his childhood near the Flinders Ranges in South Australia, and his experiences in the bush after he left home at age 14. Discusses his range of jobs, including droving, running cattle stations and breeding horses, as well as the leather goods business which made him rich. Also presents his philosophy of life and his political and social views.
