What do you mean I have to wait until August for the next book?

Honestly, this one is definitely the weaker book of the series. It felt very slow and was mostly boring in the middle. I also wasn't a fan of all the POV jumping around this book, I felt like it was more than usual.

It definitely picked up towards the end, and I enjoyed the few plot twists we got at the end there. Regardless, I'm excited and nervous for the final book. Auren and Slade better have a good ending, I swear, lol.

This felt like so many pages for really not that much that much story progression…. there also is not a chance I remember what’s going on when the next one drops.

Gold was a fantastic addition to The Plated Prisnor series, this book was everything I'd hoped for. I loved following Auren's story, while she didn't get nearly enough chapters I still had a great time reading them

I liked the new world building in Annwyn and the characters that Auren met, especially Nenet and Emonie. For the most part I enjoyed reading this book, the writing was far better than the previous books and I liked Auren's character alot more. I wasn't a huge fan of Slade though, to be honest I didn't enjoy his chapters as much as I'd thought and his character doesn't really feel the same to me anymore

Overall this book was the perfect setup for an epic finale and after the ending I'm so ready for the sixth book

I love this series, but these book has some flaws. I was hesitant going into it because I was let down by the last. This book was okay at first, but as we get closer to the end we get less and less of Auren. This was disappointing. This was made worse by the romance building between Malina and the Assassin. Malina's chapters became interesting but were overshadowed but their rushed romance. This romance interrupting a important battle scene so they can confess their feelings and do it in an alleyway while the city is under attack. Finally Auren forgetting everything makes me entirely unexcited for the next. This series started going down hill after the third book and I'm not sure if the sixth book can make up for it. I'll give it a chance but making the main character forget everything feels like lazy writing.

The other books of this series were better. This was like the wizard of Oz. Only Slates POV was good, the other 3 POVs were... meh.
