The Reality of Everything
Reviews

I love everything about this series. It's the best military romance I've read, and it's not only because of the fact that Rebecca Yarros can weave words beautifully into epic love stories, but also because she's not afraid of including the ugly side of risks and consequences of having a soldier as your significant other. We get three dimensional characters in each book that are as equally frustrating as they're relatable, whom you couldn't help but root for. I devoured all 5 books in less than a week, and now that the curtain has been lowered with Morgan's story, I'm having a withdrawal. I want more! I want an encore! I honestly wasn't expecting Morgan to get her own book. She was always depicted as a side character, and I remember being disappointed when reading Hallowed Ground because Morgan's side of things wasn't being explored in terms of Josh's guilts about what happened to Will. It felt like she was just treated as an afterthought, and that didn't feel right to me. Hence, I was so happy when I knew that this last book is about her. Her side of things deserved to be explored. And Rebecca Yarros had done exactly that in this book; thoroughly, heartwrenchingly, and amazingly. Also, I don't agree that these books are standalones. Though there are no cliffhangers or anything like that, the stories are interdependent. In my humble opinion, one really needs to read the books in order to fully understand the characters.

Rebecca does it again!!!! I can’t get enough of the FlyBoys & Girls!! I need more 😭💔

When Rebecca announced this book all of us Flight & Glory fans were happy. My heart was scared, but I also couldn't wait to dive into this book. I have to say I loved every minute of this book, I took my time to savor it as well. I loved Morgan, Jackson and Finley and just didn't want it to end. The Reality of Everything wasn't an ugly cry book like other books by this author, but I didn't get through without crying either. Before I start talking about the characters and the story I want to start with something else. Rebecca takes on mental health in this story in such a realistic way. I've never read a story with complicated grief, but she didn't shy away from anything. We got to read the good, the bad and the ugly. I loved that she made this a big part of the story. It's still such a big thing that isn't talked about and I think it's good to see in the stories we read. Okay, back to the story. Morgan is still dealing with a major loss and bought a house for a new start. I love Morgan and think she was an amazing character. All she wanted was to not hurt anymore. Her journey was so big in this book. I can't imagine what it's like to lose the man you love the way she did. Before you were ever really able to have a chance at happiness again. I'd want to lock up my heart and throw away the key as well. Morgan is such a strong woman and takes this therapy journey head on. It's not easy, but she stick at it. I feel that she was raw and genuine. I felt every emotion jumping off of the page. If anyone deserves a happy ending, it's this woman. Jackson, the single dad and next door neighbor. He's made it to the top of this list of book boyfriends. He's dedicated to his daughter and his job. One night stands are all he does, because he won't just bring anyone into his daughter's life. His daughter Finley is adorable and I loved her parts in this book. She keeps him on his toes and it's wonderful. He never expected to fall for his neighbor or have a similar job that killed this woman's loved one. Jackson is kind, loving, strong and protective. He'll carry the weight of the world for Morgan if he can. I could write a book about him, but believe me, read The Reality of Everything! The romance in this book is raw and realistic. Morgan isn't in a place for a relationship right away, but Jackson doesn't give up. It was so interesting to see them both falling for each other, but approaching these feelings carefully. They're journey to each other had me laughing, crying and being totally frustrated. It was worth every single emotion though. They just work! Besides these amazing characters and romance I also loved the setting. I would definitely dream to live on a house by the beach. It sounds like a beautiful place and having a dream home there sounds amazing. And last but not least, the cast of side characters. Some we already know from Flight & Glory and it was amazing to read about them again. But Jackson's group of friends were equally amazing! I think I have a new favorite Rebecca Yarros book. The Reality of Everything is filled with family, friends, love, grief, healing, second chances and a new start. This author has such a way with words and I'm amazed every time I read a book by her. If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend it.
