Iron Flame The Empyrean #2
Reviews

I did not expect the end.

Fantastic fun read! Definitely one to read again!

Hated this ending and I think Yarros could use more time between books to flush things out.
Still had a fun time, still gonna preorder Onyx Storm of course

horrendous. can't believe it got worse lol. honestly just sticking around for the dragons at this point but it's getting increasingly difficult to tolerate the terrible writing.

This rating is all because of the second half of this book. Everything in the first 40% of the book is so repetitive and honestly annoying with Violet constantly looping her thoughts about trust with Xaden, when she was basically doing the same with her friends. Not to mention her own insecurities also interrupting with their communication.
Andarna’s teen attitude mixed with Tairn’s tired dad energy really made this book fun with how crazy and serious things get. Also enjoyed seeing more of the gryphon riders backgrounds. Can’t wait to see where this goes next, and forget about how much this book annoyed me 😅😅

Another great read

i loved it! the ending!!!
i rlly like most of the characters and actually route for them so i was invested.
only downside is some of the relationship drama is a bit tedious but i do love both of them!!

… xaden is A MAN but the book had a way more fantasy than the romance so I took one month to read it and there was days I didn’t even touched it cause it was so boring. Xaden and violet didn’t talked nothing at the bigining of the book and the description of the story was confused maybe it’s cause it’s in English and it’s not my native language but at the same time it’s not cause it was co fused I. My native langue also

Focus on your mission or the plan falls apart. Trust the others to do theirs.
I believe in teamwork and leadership when it comes to achieving challenging goals, and here we are getting similar wise comments from Tairn.
In the second book, our heroine finds herself on shaky ground where she needs to find herself, her centre. I’m glad she finally learnt to trust others—people who care about her. Then again, the constant trusting fight she had with you-know-who felt so childish; I felt like it was only to lengthen the pages in the book.
All in all, I’ve seen a good battle here. Well, the end wasn’t ideal, but life isn’t too.

this is just a soap opera disguised as a high fantasy

Andarna is the key 🔑 #anothaone

I kicked my feet, I laughed, and I cried, the ending took my breath away in the worst way possible. 😭 ready to read Onyx Storm.

I liked forth wing better. But after you get past part one of the book it gets wayy better.

In my mind Lilith Sorrengail is played by Michelle Yeoh.

I’m so frustrated by some of Yarros’ writing and her decisions. The miscommunication trope is the worst because it’s so easily misused and here is another classic case between Violet and Xaden. The question game??? The anachronistic language in a medieval fantasy is so lazy and the intensity of their relationship strains credulity because everything between them is always ~so hot, so perfect/electric/insert adjective here~. The ending of this book was actually very interesting and something I didn’t guess but felt right. I’m curious to see how the next book goes!

I’m not okay.
I am currently going to be staring at a wall for the next four days until onyx storm is released. I am not sure how to proceed from here.
This book was really good and I think it altered my brain chemistry. It took a lot of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and now I am really scared for the next book.

Great, gripping follow up to Fourth Wing, with just the right mix of romance and action. Had me hooked from start to finish.

First half of the book gets a 4 star, second half gets a 3 star. Felt like two books melded together.

After being confused I had to re-read the last two chapters lol but loved it just as much as fourth wing! Onyx storm already pre ordered now just an anxious wait!

i’m addicted. i’m confused. i’m heartbroken. i don’t know how i’m supposed to wait until the 3rd book comes out.

DNF at 92%
Yeah so, no. This might be a soft DNF, I might pick it up if I see people liking the third one. Literally nothing happens in this book. Violet and Xaden fight about the same things, Violet STILL has no control over her powers (and people say she could win Aelin in a fight… bffr) and unfortunately I was spoiled the end, so I just kind of lost interest

He smiles - really fucking smiles - and it almost makes me rethink my decision.

I want his body over me, inside me, as close as humanly possible.
Me too girl

“But your home…” It’s softer than a whisper.
”You are my home.”
