I scooped up the whole series on an 80% off Kindle daily deal sale. I have to say it looks like I got a great deal. I have read numerous paranormal series and this has easily become one of my favorites.

Reckoning is a prequel novella form the Night Huntress. I had read somewhere that you should read this book after the 1st book in the night Huntress series. I didn't do that. I chose to read this before reading Halfway to the Grave. I don't think it was necessary to know the characters before hand. Frost did a great job developing the characters throughout this book.

Reckoning is set in 2004 in New Orleans prior to Bones meeting the Cat, the heroine in the Night Huntress Series, and Bones arrives in New Orleans to dispose of a ghoul serial killer duo. The story line is fast paced and does not disappoint. While Bones is not quite as agile in this book as in the later books, it is still engaging and well worth reading.

This prequel is well worth the $1.99 price and it is a good addition to the Night Huntress Series.
