This book was so much better than the first, and I really enjoyed it... until the last chapter. This author has some of the worst most manipulative cliffhangers, and it makes me angry. Yet, I will be continuing. However, I believe the next book could be the worst one yet for me. 

This second book had really great fantasy elements, good steam, and decent action and plot. I did predict the plot twist, but there's nothing wrong with that. I, however, am deeply angry at the last chapter. So beware the evil cliffhanger.

What a fantastic sequel to Rejected! Mera is continuing to help Shadow try and open the door to the Shadow Realm so he can reclaim his birthright. This book definitely was more fast-paced than the first one in my opinion, and I absolutely loved it! The spice was fantastic, and I enjoyed seeing Shadowshine's relationship grow. 

Something I liked about this book was that it was a bit more focused on world-building and relationships because it gives readers a bit more of an inside look at Shadow's home realm and the creatures and culture it contains. It was interesting to read because I was very intrigued by it when I read the first book. 

Even though I one hundred percent adored this stunning creative masterpiece Jaymin Eve has cooked up, the cliffhanger ending made me sob my eyes out! Nowhere did I see an indication of it, and it blew me away! Now I am anxiously waiting for book three, Reborn, to be released!

Having read the first one, I found this much more enjoyable mainly to the fact that the main character had some emotional growth and became somewhat less annoying in her speech (in my opinion). I also enjoyed the plot evolution but the explicit sexual content and talk still made me cringe just because it was so.. crude.

All things considered, waiting for the 3rd and last chapter!

           Of course it was good. The plot, the spice and the characters were captivating. But I'm upset at the way it ended. Not that the ending was terrible, if anything it was an amazing cliffhanger but it upsets me because I'm so invested in the book.

Oh. My. Gosh. For every thought i had in the first book about this series not being spicy enough, i take it allll back after this book. The spice level was beyond. The world building for the shadow realm i LOVED. The twist in this story was shocking. The cliffhanger killed me. I’m so obsessed with this and NEED the third book now! Shadow is one of my favorite characters ever 🥵
