If I have to read one more book where the couple can’t communicate and refuse to talk about their feelings, I will lose my mind. Look, I really felt for Jessica after her having gone through such a traumatic event, but goddamn was she frustrating for the majority of this book. How do you go through a near death experience thinking about your one big regret and then when faced with being able to rectify it you just... don't? Her resistance made no sense to me. I realize that a lot of time had passed and that she had no idea how Grayson felt, but you'd think she would at least want him to know the truth? Or that she owed it to herself to at least try. Let's just chalk all that up to her brain injury lmao. Don’t even get me started on Grayson. This man wanted nothing more than for her to stay and sure, he was scared, but he was ready to fight for her. But then once she finally decides to stay, he pushes her away? Because he had a bad night? Grow up, Grayson. You didn’t have a TBI - wtf is your excuse?? This is the third book by this author that I've read and I don't know - I have a hard time really connecting with her characters. I wish I knew why because I want to like her books more than I do and I want them to move me like they probably should, but they just.. don't. I think it's a me thing, though I will say that this book was very frustrating and overall disappointing. Also this has been the slumpiest month of any month I've ever had and I feel like all books, except for a select few, have suffered because of it and I wish I could personally apologize to them all lmao.

Return to Us is the first book in a new series by Corinne and it was really good. We saw a glimpse of Jessica in Stay for me and since then I wanted to read her story and I absolutely loved it. This book is a second chance romance and I really loved Jessica and Grayson’s story. Jessica is back in her childhood home after a crash to recover and while she does that she reconnects with her childhood boyfriend, Grayson. They had some really good times when they were young but thanks to her status and his mother’s negativity she left town just after prom. Now Grayson has a 4 year old daughter and still lives in Willow Creek Valley. When they meet again it all comes crashing down and it’s hard for them to stay away. Their moments together were amazing, they tried to fought back their feelings but their love was always there. I also loved how they were together with Amelia, she was a really cute little girl and very grown up for her age. Grayson was wonderful too, he had a bad relationship with his parents but despite that he still had a great relationship with his siblings and he always put his daughter first. In the book we know more about their siblings and a little of their stories so I can’t wait to read more of them, especially about Jack and Stella and Delia and Joshua. ARC kindly provided by author, in exchange for an honest review.
