I liked how much care the author took to really tell the story of the girls, at least half of the book goes through their backgrounds before the crimes are even discussed. Overall it was okay, may have given it a disadvantage as I am reading it right now while there has been an arrest in the case, so I couldn't really buy into the theories that were discussed in the book.

3.5 rounded up. The humanity in this true crime book was undeniable. From the start the author makes it a point to show how the victims were people. 
The true crime aspect itself is rather thin, as there’s not a lot to go on and what there is is not particularly attention grabbing. 
Personally, I came out of reading this book with a deep sense of compassion for the victims, with more understanding on how sex workers are treated by law enforcement simply because of their jobs. The author has presented a narrative that asks the reader to look at their own biases and understand that there is more to a person that meets the eye. 
I hope that one day this case will be solved, and that more attention is given to the missing and murdered women who are neglected on the basis of their work and/or race.
