Metropolitan Crime Patterns
The papers in this volume examine crime from a metropolitan perspective, including the spread of crime to the suburbs and the spatial movement of criminals. Part I contains ecological analyses of crime patterns in metropolitan regions. Part II examines not only the environments of offenders and offenses, but also the spatial movement associated with the search for a crime site. Part III describes the effects of crime, and fear of crime, on the viability of communities. The final section discusses the formal public response to crime in the form of policing expenditures.
