Head/Case

Head/Case

Irish Tracy got hit on the head with a brick and, having lost the connection between words and objects, between herself and what she sees in the mirror, is now an 'eejit' and constant 'yakker'. English Julia was in a car accident and is the opposite: dislocated from her emotions, she wrestles strangled words from a mind that is 'stuck'. Head/Case takes a look at national identity through the eyes of two contrasting brain-damaged women who typify Irish and English stereotypes. How do you define yourself when you literally don't know who you are anymore? How do you begin to heal when you cannot fix your sense of self? And how much does nationality, culture and memory shape who you actually are?
