Rosie's Travelling Tea Shop

Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop is a feel good story, with vibrant characters and a soulful story. I love the concept, and I especially love Aria. I do feel that the storyline with Rosie’s ex-husband didn’t really reach a definitive conclusion, she just stopped talking about him at some point, which I suppose signals her moving on. However this felt incomplete somehow, I felt like something else needed to happen to show her resolve and growth as a character. To be honest, at first I loved Ollie’s inclusion in the story, but then at the very end when the truth was revealed, it felt somewhat pointless and actually somewhat hinders the main story. I feel like this could have been executed differently. Aside from those two things, I enjoyed this read. It wasn’t a literary masterpiece, but Rebecca Raisin did make me smile and laugh at her story.

I wanted sooooo desperately to love this book. It involved a woman running a tea shop and a woman running a book shop, which are my favourite things. SO. BADLY. Not to say it wasn't good, it was, I just didn't LOVE it.

Pros, the story is super cute, the characters are fun, it's good for painting images of what's going on, like I have a clear idea of what the van and the patio and the festivals all look like. Also, there's a sister book that follows the Book seller woman, so that's really cool.

But there's too many cons for me. It time skips a bunch and fits a full year into a small book. There are some plot points that I don't feel were finished, and then skipped away from. It was a really slow start for me, I wasn't really interested until about 50% through. 

Generally though, it was good. The writing style was nice, it gave a really good look into the protagonists thoughts without being weird. It felt like the characters were very real, and had very real situations and histories. I'm conflicted about my feelings for this book, but I did like it in the end.
