The Reaper: An Enemies to Lovers Dark Romance Dark Verse Book 2
Reviews

i'm already attached to these characters.

Too many twists and turns it kept me on my toes. I’m sad that it’s the end of Tristan and moranas story but I have to read more

Now this book I loved it.
Unfortunately I could not FULLY give it all of my attention and enjoy it ti the fullest because of my work schedule..But I sure did liking it more than The Predator, I think it is because I was so distracted all the time and loosing focus/concentration.
I am going to continue immediately with The Emperor which is Dantes book HIHIHIHI🤭🤭

Ok honestly not that bad. The only thing that annoyed me is the portrayal and writing of the main guy. He was so hot and cold with what he did and I also thought that the one chapter we did get in his point of view made no sense. I did enjoy the found family aspect though.

this book changed my life forever and i don’t know how to move on.

What a great series. (So far, at least.)
I love Tristan and Morana’s story. Their relationship is intense and beautiful.
The story line is captivating and I just keep wanting to know more.

i love men who know when to shut tf up

is Morana ok?!!!! She is going through it.

I'M IN LOVE WITH THEIR LOVE I ATE THIS SHIT UP Tristan's character development is everything the plot twist in this was amazing Tristan and Dante have me weak in the knees. They are scrump- deli-icious.

“His fingers, his sure fingers, firmly
massaged the shampoo over her scalp, lathering up her stands.”
HE WASHES HER HAIR😩 he is uhh😩 so perfect and beautiful and I Iove him so much. This was absolutely amazing my heart wasn’t the only that was pulsing because gah DAMN😩💦

I can't love this book enough. It was just beyond words and I would do so much to read it again. My new comfort series 💖

WHAT A FUCKING BOOK THIS WAS EVERYTHING I NEEDED IT TO BE

•Amara desapareció me ? scared
•Vin - seguridad, Dante confía en el, bueno con los cuchillos- siento que vamos a leer más de el con el pasar de los libros, ya quiero saber quién es su interés amoroso
•TRISTAN MANDO A HACER ¿? UNA REPLICA DEL AUTO BFF DE MORANA ke varon
no sé si me quedo algo para nombrar quedé -

“I’m in so love with you, caveman.”
She saw his eyes flare slightly, his hand coming to rest around her neck, gripping her firmly. “You can’t take that back,” he warned her fiercely.
♡
“The men in this world don’t love like normal men, little doe. Their love is more intense than any other. He fell in love with you as a boy and as a man. And watching it happen has been the only peace I have found in years, knowing you will be loved and cherished and protected after I’m gone. I needed to give you that”
♡
“Eyes,” the demand found its way through the fog.
Slowly, heart thundering in her chest, Morana looked at him.
And found those beautiful, magnificent blue eyes looking at her with anything but hate.
“You are exactly where you were supposed to be,” he told her, his voice leaving no room for doubts. “I know exactly who you are.”
“Who am I?”
“Mine.”
♡
“You might have been born with another name but you are Morana. My Morana. You’re the girl I killed for and you’re the woman I’d die for. You are mine and you are exactly where you’re supposed to be. Don’t ever question that again”
♡
“I can feel your life under my hand,” he stated, his eyes burning on hers, his fingers locking her life to him. “Your body, your life, your heart – they’re all mine now. Trust me to keep all of them safe”
♡
Any moment now, she would awaken and he would see the fire that lived inside her in those burnished eyes. Those eyes had always done so much to his insides. As a boy, he hadn’t understood what the heaviness in his chest had been. As a man, he was learning. She had looked up at him with her claws bared to the world, her hate, her heat, and now her heart, all his for the taking.
♡
“I’m cynical, Morana,” he told her, holding her hand and her attention. “I don’t believe in marriages. I don’t believe in men who wear their rings with their wives only to take it off later. But I believe in loyalty. I believe in commitment.”
He saw her eyes shimmering, knew she’d already figured it out. He wasn’t surprised – sometimes she knew him better than he knew himself.”

this was an epic ride. i want to be morana when I grow up, she is so smart; it’s fascinating how she possesses both intellectual and emotional intelligence. as for tristan, i just want to hold him. i’m weak for heroes who are grumpy/closed off/sullen but inside have a soft spot.. and i have just described tristan; part of him - part of that little boy he once was still lived inside of him. those little glimpses we got from him being gentle and warm were worth everything. i love him, i really do. as for the plot twists.. i’m sucker for these plots and all the secrets. overall, their story is amazing and epic and i’m at a loss for words. *spoiler alert* now i just really want luna to be found.. and please a novella about morana and tristan. 5-caveman-stars ✨

i want 10 more books about them god i loved every second of their journey

Holy shit. I am shook. Like what the actual fuck RuNyx? This was amazing and near damn impossible to put down. I'm out of my mind still trying to process everything that has happened with Tristan and Morana, and their journey together. This has become one of my favorable follow-up installments in a series that I have read in a very long time. “The Reaper” was well written, engaging, and the author’s writing style remained consistent all throughout which allowed each scene to flow smoothly from one to the next. The character development was right up my alley and it was great to see how Morana was able to influence and help Tristan transition away from being the cold hearted emotionless man who had nothing meaningful to live for he once was. And of course, the dynamic between Morana and Tristan… woo wee! Sizzling hot! Obviously where there's good, there's bad. With this sequel upon us I was really hoping to see some character growth with Morana. More often than not, her immaturity nearly got in the way of her relationship with Tristan and she was quick to run off all pissy whenever another woman showed any interest which practically happened in every other chapter. It got a bit annoying after a while but as much as I hate to say it, I would consider it somewhat justifiable due to how fresh and new everything was to them. It still irked me though. On top of that, the build-up leading to the conclusion of the story of who the reaper was, missing/stolen codes and whereabouts of the missing girls that includes Tristan sister Luna sorta kinda fell flat and left me feeling unsatisfied. The plot stirred off track barely halfway through to focus on the romance portion before making a brief appearance towards the end. In spite of my love for the romance aspect of this novel, I wished the plot became a more prominent factor in this story. And finally, is it wrong I wanted Tristan to remain the brooding hero till the very end? Sure I liked the vulnerable side of him he was able to show after Morana broke down his walls and the openness of expressing his affection that was borderline mushy yet I fucking loved his silent ways of showing his want for her. It's just a personal preference but still. It was the primary reason why I was so drawn to him. Nevertheless Tristan and Morana kept me engaged, I enjoyed the read minus those small tidbits and the conclusion to their story was well received. Now I'll just have to suffer and wait for a few more months to get my grubby hands on the next installment of The Dark Verse series featuring Dante and Amara story next.

better than book 1 but idk im eating my words rn bc i kinda missed the long monologues while i was reading the peak/climax of the story hdsjhs

This book was so good i wanna give it five stars but that’s not enough so I’m gonna give it TEN

I adore Tristan and Morana both do not know what it is to be in a relationship. Tristan is not one for many words but his actions shows how deeply he cares for her. Morana does not hold back with her feelings. The slow burn was perfect. Dante secondary character has me so curious for his story. He has more of a bigger part in Tristan and Morana story. Nice set up to his book. Highly Recommend Dark Verse series that needs to be read in order. Unpredictable with many twists that I had a few WTF just happened moments. Great for Romantic Suspense lovers.

okay this book was much more better than the first one. i mean Tristan actually talks in this book, and we find out that he can cook, and take care of morana (very well might i add) and he has dimples, which i found very pleasing. there was also more of an actual plot in this book and a lot of the questions were answered, albeit there still being a smut scene like every five minutes. and i can’t lie they were actually kinda cute. we also got dual POV in this one rather than third person POV like the last book. Tristan was actually a decent mafia bf, none of the borderline assault behaviour normal people do and none of the crazy bat shit blowing up petrol station shit as well. it was a pretty grounded story hence why i found it enjoyable. also I’d much rather have myself a Dante because that man is so FINEE. overall, it was a decent book. i think i would have found it more enjoyable had i read it after boards and not between me stressing to finish learning mallu. i can’t wait to read Dante’s book because I know I’m gonna like that more. She was his gravity, his fucking planet, and he was lost without her. Tristain and Morana are made for each other. there is nothing that can convince me otherwise. there's a drastic difference in their relationship in this book compared to the first and i'm all here for it. the way he softens around her. the way she understands him better than anyone ever has. the way he SHOWS how much he loves her. they are everything. oh and the plot twists in this book?! i. am. shooketh. incredible read!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR DANTE AND AMARA'S BOOK!!

Two books isn’t enough of them! THEY OWN ME! Dear lord so so good!!! Ugh seriously the PLOT, THE COUPLE, FUCKKKK I LOVEEEE!!! 😭😭 Tristan is absolutely everything and Morana is a literal Goddess. I love the overarching plot of these books, and RuNyx is 100% a author that I will read any goddamn word she gives me.

*Received ARC in exchange for an honest review* Rating: 5 Stars! Full review at bookboyfriendsdoitbetter.com "She had finally found something worth living for. Nobody could snatch it away from her. Not now. She had to make it. She had to live." First of all, I do not possess the vocabulary needed to properly describe my love for this book. So, with that said, on to this messy chaotic review. I am astounded by how much this series has managed to completely steal my heart so quickly. Within the span of 2 months, both books have completely taken over my favorite books of 2020 list. "And the most beautiful, precious thing happened. His cold, aloof eyes warmed." The Reaper is my favorite book of 2020 now, no questions asked. And I've read 2 new releases from my favorite author ever. Tristan is not a man of many words but when he does speak you just can't help but be completely captivated by him. And so in those small moments when he would open up to Morana, my cold dead heart fluttered. "He stilled, his eyes flaring with something primal, and her heart started to pound, her chest heaving against his, their gazes locked. Without a word, he firmed his grip. Something inside her calmed." Usually in my reviews, I go on and on and on about the MCs but I just have to rave about Morana for a bit. Because as much as I love and adore Tristan, Morana is my favorite character of this world so far. I love how she is baddass she is without being cocky. I've read so many books where the heroine is super badass and doesn't have any emotions because she's a tough nut but then isn't actually that tough. Morana is not that. She is brave and fierce and isn't afraid to show emotion. If she needs help, she will ask. If she needs to cry it out, she will. I adore her character so much and its bittersweet knowing that while we will see her in the next installments, we won't get to be inside her brain anymore. And The Predator, oh sweet sweet emotionally naive Tristan. I feel such a connection to his character. Because while I don't find it hard to say I love you to people --its actually very easy for me to say because I want everyone to know they are loved-- I also have trouble communicating deeper more complex emotions. Its hard for me to put my actual feeling into thoughts and then let someone know how I feel about them. "Silently, he'd offered her a place behind those walls that sheltered him." Tristan may not say the most beautiful words and in my opinion, he doesn't need to. We can see how deeply he loved Morana by his actions. How he hugs her, how he cares for her when she's hurt, how he defends her. He doesn’t need to spot poetic monolugues about his love for her because its just palpable. I can only hope to one day find someone who is as patient and loving and caring to me as Morana is to Tristan. And I hope that, that person is able to feel my love for them too, when I also have trouble communicating my emotions. "Fuck yes, he was hers. For however long, damaged and asshole-d and however he was, he was hers. And good luck to anyone who tried to come between that." And the writing is just so stunning, if that makes sense. I don't know how Runyx is able to create characters that ignite your love for them so fiercely. She was able to create this world where the characters are broken and beautiful. The emotions you feel while reading her work are out of this world. I'm not sure if I was able to clearly describe how I feel about this series, so I suggest you go read it. Its on the darker side of romance but it is not too dark where I wouldn't recommend it to a dark romance newbie.

Definitivamente uno de mis libros favoritos
Highlights

One of his hands settled on her hips, the other coming up to her neck. "My loyalty is not a luxury for you, Morana. It's a gift and it's yours. You never have to walk into a room and question that.”

“I don't just burn with you, Tristan," she said, her voice shaking. “I burn for you. And I don't know what I have to do to prove it."

“I just wanted to see something" he explained.
"What?"
"If you burned as I burn with the need to claim you. That I wasn't alone in the fire."

It was because he felt too much and no matter what, she vowed, watching him at her feet, that she would ride it out with him. She had found something immensely precious in their world, a diamond in the coals, a lotus in the mud. And she vowed to cherish it, cherish him, as he deserved. He needed time to open up, to trust her not to abandon him someday, and she would give that to him. He had earned that.

"His demons dance with mine, she murmured softly, the truth of that statement seeping into her pores. "That's all I can give you.”
