The Justice in Revenge

The streets and canals of Servenza fill with tension as the war between the gods heats up and the city's ruler prepares for rebellion. As always, ordinary people are caught in the cross-hairs of the powerful. Former street rat Buc has claimed a seat on the board of Kanados Trading Company, strongest of Servenza's trading houses. This is the first step toward Buc's goal: destroying the Gods who make many people's lives miserable. If that also means taking down Servenza's government and ruining the lives of the wealthy and powerful, well, there's nothing wrong with that that Buc can see. Standing in Buc's way are Servenza's ruler and her mysterious ally, the murderous Sicarii, who are fomenting revolution. Sicarii has concealed a much more personal mission. She seeks Buc's destruction. As the gods and their worshippers search for a missing artifact that holds the key to unending power and people disappear from the streets of Servenza in ever-increasing numbers, Buc faces her enemies--including one who lives inside her own mind--in a fight for her sanity and her life.
