cringed everytime she called him prince

3.5 stars. This was a bit of a confusing book for me. At its heart it’s a bully romance but for my mind, it was dark enough, Zach didn’t embrace his anger enough for it. It could’ve been a decent enemies to lovers book but too much emphasis, like a LOT of emphasis, was on the fact he was her bully. Also, it had a really immature feel for me. The pranks Cleo pulled just didn’t work for me. What also didn’t work for me was the language in the sex scenes. I hate to say it, but it was on the corny side. Still, I liked Zach and all his problems. I thought that was a great twist, and Art was cute too. This book wasn’t for me, but I don’t think all is lost here.

Ugh, my angel babies. I absolutely fell head over heels for Zachariah and Cleopatra. Enemies since the age of 10 these two have a long back story that is equally heart wrenching and intimate. Bad Boy Blues picks up a few years after high school, making this book one of my top NA romances. Saffron has a special, unique way with words. When you start one of her books you instantly know it’s hers by the tone of the writing. Zach is a multi dimensional character who explores his darkest sides in this story. That poor boy, gah, my heart. I’ve never met a brooding hero like him and idk if I ever will again. His pain slices you like a knife; fast and deep. Cleo, Blue, she’s so tough and resilient. Exactly what he needs, he’s exactly what she needs. They bled together and then they felt together. I just love this pairing with my entire being. Cleo is his motivation and he becomes hers. They genuinely make me emotional when thinking back on their journey. Some may call this a bully romance but if you do I feel like you’re discrediting the depth of this message. While reading I thought to myself “this is the epitome of hurt people; hurt people”. I didn’t know the underlying message and struggle until I started reading and I highly recommend you going in blind as well. The heat, chemistry and tension are A1. This story is incredibly well rounded, character growth is evident through out and I will remember Zach and Cleo always. I lost knowledge of time while reading these pages. Before I knew it was almost over but not from lack of length but from the magic that lies within these words.

3-3.5 stars! I'm still trying to find a Saffron A. Kent book to LOVE. This one is an okay enemies to lovers new adult romance between a rich mean boy and poor girl who also happens to work for his family.
