3.5 stars, was probably better to listen to it as an audiobook than a physical copy

wow!! this book was a ride. i read it in 3 days, i couldn’t put it down i was so drawn in. from the very beginning i was hooked and wanted to know what happened. every guess i took ended up wrong and had my jaw dropped at the twist. Insomnia takes you on a thrilling ride about Emma just weeks before her 40th birthday. she’s unable to sleep and feels as though she’s gone crazy with remembering her traumatic past that involved her mom and sister. the closer it gets to her birthday, the worse things get. 5/5 stars, would highly recommend!

I liked how this book follows from the perspective of an unreliable narrator. At one point I did think she was actually going crazy. Overall, this was a really good book, with an interesting plot and an unpredictable ending.

The ending of Insomnia was so unique and interesting, I loved it! I found the beginning a little slow but it was still worth the read, every time I thought I had it figured out I was wrong. Overall a really good read.

I was really intrigued by this book because of the author. I watched Behind Her Eyes before reading the book and thought, damn wonder what the book would've been like. I swore to myself then that I would read the next book she wrote. and voila! I wasn't disappointed. Well, not a LOT. It was fun to read about Emma's slow descent into madness, but along the way it was TOO slow. And the constant repetition of the song lyrics wasn't helping; like, yeah I get it? What else?? While the person behind this whole thing was someone I had suspected from the beginning, I wasn't unsure why. I had also thought about the why but did not think they were both related. I was really satisfied by the ending; the slow and repetitive story got the thrilling ending it deserved. I would definitely read more of her works. I was definitely creeped out by the writing, if that was her objective. I had to read a light romance after this to take my mind off it.
