so thrilled the english translation is finally here for this novel!! after watching the show, i have been itching to read rubyjames!! reading this book, you get a deeper look into ruby and james as characters, where you get a better understanding of ruby's determination and james's emotions especially towards ruby eekk!! love seeing his jealousy and yearning side!!!

i noticed that the adaptation stayed true to the novel (which i love) until the ending. clearly, that was not the ending i was expecting while reading the book. wow that ending was definitely a SURPRISE and i need the next book ASAP also curious to see how season two will go since the adaptation took a different direction with the ending

this is definitely my favorite book 😭 I only bought it because the title is also a bts song lol but I love this series so much and I am so happy it got a really good series. please read it <3

No está mal, pero la historia no me ha parecido muy interesante o diferente a el resto. Simplemente me ha parecido como otra historia más de la nerd y el popular. Lo que si me ha gustado ha sido poder ver los puntos de vista de él en ciertos momentos en los que no los tenemos normalmente.

Fand das Buch gut. Dennoch hat ich mehr erwartet durch den Hype auf Tik Tok. Für mich persönlich ist das zu viel hin und her (vllt auch weil die Geschichte nach einem Buch noch nicht zu Ende ist haha) aber trotzdem feier ich die beiden und werde auch trotzdem mir die anderen Teile holen und lesen

Definitely better than the first one. 
The characters became much more likeable after seeing them go through some tough moments. I just wish we had more time with some characters - like Ember.
I'm just not a fan of the way Mona Kasten ends her books. It's always some unexplainable twist that undermines the whole book.

Im großen und Ganzen hat mir die Reihe gefallen, allerdings ging mir Ember extrem auf den Zeiger und zeitweise auch Ruby - vor allem im dritten Band, daher auch nur 3 Sterne für „Save Us“

what in the flying fuck was that?
okay first off, i must admit that in the first quarter, i was actually intrigued. the trope (smart unpopular girl x rich bad boy) is a little too generic, but it's not impossible to write a good book on that base. well, did not happen but especially the ending ruined it for me.
let me elaborate: two extremely emotionally immature leads that can't seem to fit their own stereotype right (like, is ruby supposed to be shy or should she threaten to beat up james every time he breathes in her 10 km radius?), the insufferable internalized misogyny tropes also known as "i'm not like all those other girls who happen to realize that the male lead is goodlooking", all romantic gestures revolving about james' wealth and or ruby being a damsel in distress and last but not least, james making the same mistake THREE TIMES and not changing a single bit.
also, are we gonna skip the part where a teacher literally impregnates a student and instead of at least making it a somewhat cautionary tale, the author decided to romanticize it?????? umm.

two stars only because i was fairly invested in the first part where there was still hope for a good storyline. but do i lowkey want to know if the next books are better? maybe.

Das Buch war eines der, die mich überhaupt zum lesen gebracht haben.

Hier hab ich das Hörbuch dazu gehört. Gelesen wurde es von Milena Karas für Ruby und Michael-Che Koch für James. Beide haben schöne ruhige Stimmen, wobei mir die Teile von Milena besser gefallen haben.

Von den Charakteren fand ich Ruby am interessantesten. Bei James weiß ich noch nicht genau, ob er mir jetzt mega unsympathisch ist oder ob ich Mitleid mit ihm haben soll. Ruby könnte für manche ein Vorbild sein. Glaub an deine Träume und du erreichst diese. Ich glaub dieser Satz fasst Ruby gut zusammen.

Die Handlung war nicht immer ganz zu verstehen, gerade wenn es um James ging, hat aber dennoch aufeinander aufgebaut. 

Der Schluss war ein bisschen doof. Wie kann man einen nur so in der Luft hängen lassen ?! 

Ich geb zwar eine Lese Empfehlung raus, aber wie schon bei der Again-Reihe, muss man es einfach mögen.

Wie schon beim ersten Teil der Reihe hab ich auch hier das Hörbuch gehört. Gelesen wurde es wieder von Milena Karas und Michael-Che Koch. Schon im ersten Band hat mich die Stimme von Milena Karas gefesselt.

Die Charaktere waren auch hier wieder interessant und es freute mich, dass man mehr von Lydia erfahren hat. Auch die Kapitel aus der Sicht von Ember waren toll.

James und Ruby haben mich jedoch etwas genervt und das Ende des Buches hat mich schier verzweifeln lassen. Wie um Himmels Willen kann man ein Buch mit so einem Cliffhanger enden lassen ?!

Hier habe ich wieder das Hörbuch gehört. Gelesen wurde es von Milena Karas und Michael-Che Koch.

Die beiden harmonieren gut zusammen, was das lesen angeht.

Bei der Geschichte hat mir etwas die Tiefgründigkeit gefehlt. Es ging leider nur um Ruby und James, während die anderen nur oberflächlich behandelt wurden, was ziemlich schade war.

An sich zwar ein guter Abschluss der Reihe, aber dennoch einige Abzüge.

           Also es war mein erstes Buch im Jahr 2019 und ich fand es wirklich gut, bis auf das Ende. Was war das das den Bitte für ein Ende.
Wenn Ruby wirklich so einen großen IQ hat wird sie nicht mehr mit ihm zusammen kommen! aber ich befürchte jetzt schon, das sie im zweiten Teil wieder mit James zusammenkommt.
Auf der einen Seite freue ich mich den zweiten Teil zu lesen, da ich wissen will ob sie es nach Oxford schafft und wie es mit Lydia weitergeht und was für Probleme eigentlich James Vater hat.

Die Story war eigentlich nichts neues, ich mein ein Bad Boy ein Good Girl. Ein Klassiker. Trotzdem ist jeder Story irgendwie einzigartig, aber man muss eben nicht mehr so viel Nachdenken.
