Somebody to Love
Reviews

I didn’t read this book because it’s a literary great. I read this book because it’s the literary equivalent of comfort food for me. I love romance. Romance makes me happy. One of my favorite authors, Brenda Novak, has an online book club that I’ve been following for years. A few years ago, one of the monthly picks of her book club was one of the books from the Blessings, Georgia, series. Because I refuse to read a series out of order, I started from the beginning and absolutely fell in love with Blessings, Georgia. I feel like this series would make for a wonderful TV series…maybe I should start a letter-writing campaign to have Netflix make that happen. I wasn’t familiar with the Knox family from the previous books, and this book really doesn’t have many of the previous love stories, so it was a whole bunch of new to me. I did feel like the relationship between Hunt and Ava progressed rather quickly, but I’m not one to question somebody else’s creative genius. (What am I saying, that is literally what I’m doing here.) There could have been quite a bit more development of both the characters and the storyline itself, but that’s not what we came here for. We came here for the love story, and Sala delivered. It’s a great, quick, happily-ever-after read.
