I am very disappointed in this novel. I was expecting it to be thrilling and suspenseful, but it was not even mildly exciting. I didn't even like Sherlock Holmes' character, he is just a big know it all. It was very hard to get through, and I ended up just skim-reading the final chapters. The murderer had no motive, and I had no attachment to any of the characters. I'm not sure why Sherlock Holmes novels are so popular, because I did not find it to be anything special.
