The story of Chains and Maddy is heartwarming and well-crafted. It really grabs you with his overbearing protectiveness and alpha male traits, paired with her motherly instincts, no holds barred personality, and willingness to do anything for the kids. They were drawn together because of the children, and as time passed, a relationship developed between the two. The author did such a good job with the plot and character development that I felt a connection to not only the main characters but also the supporting cast throughout the book. The plot was well-paced and structured. I liked how the character situations in the book were absorbing and unpredictable, keeping you turning the page. I'm excited to read more from S.J. Rowe.
