Smarter Faster Better The Secrets of Being Productive in Life and Business
Reviews

This book wasn't terrible, but it wasn't all that enlightening in regards to productivity. There were tons of fascinating stories that were included in the book. I liked them a lot, but again, in regards of productivity it didn't seem so helpful. The appendix is probably the most valuable part (if you want to be more productive) but even then the ideas aren't exactly fresh. I enjoyed the read but didn't get what I had hoped out of it.

A lot of productivity books are focused on what you do, not how you do it. This is really different. It looks at things that a lot of people would benefit from, but don't know it - the sciences of data analysis, learning strategies, and other big approaches to life and business. If you're feeling stuck, this book will do much more than show you how to keep to-do lists. It's also surprisingly well written, uncharacteristically so for this genre. Highly recommended.

Interesting stuff about plane crashes.

Worth reading for productivity tricks and tips. Internalize new ideas: Tell someone about it, interact with the idea, and it’ll stick with you better. For example, telling a colleague about a book you’re reading, not to educate them, but to lock in the ideas. More of my findings summarized here: https://sensible.blog/2016/11/18/smar...

Follows a familiar pattern - a bunch of stories with an overarching key point about what makes us successful/productive. Not much you can take away and apply right away. Still, a pleasant read.

Great read, easy to digest, entertaining, and practical.
