Really liked it!

Continues to be interesting and fun as hell to read, a real page-turner and you just want to find out everything about all main and little plots there is. Even the secondary characters are interesting to read. But it's mostly the story that's really good and the feeling of how the whole plot unfolds while reading. Awesome stuff.

Great captivating story and solid artwork! 

Something tells me this is going to be a great run. Highly recommended for Star Wars fans and for sci-fi fans alike.

As Emperor Palpatine tightens his iron grip on the Galactic Republic, which he acquired control of through betrayal, his subjects and those whose lives he destroyed begin to question his means and motives.

There are some gems in this book that I truly enjoy! Overall though, the story was pretty dull. Still worth a read, for those lovable Kanan & Hera moments though!

I really liked this book. The pace of the story was fast, the characters very enjoyable, and I liked getting glimpses into this time period of the Star Wars universe. This story also felt like Star Wars, that is no easy feat considering all the characters are new and unknown to us.
For me the book read fast and I liked the short chapter structure. That should not be taken as the book was simple or childish, because it was not. This is an adult Star Wars book.
I've read a lot of Star Wars EU books over the years, and honestly I was not someone who was upset with the announcement that the EU would be relabeled as "Legends". That being said this book did not rewrite anything in the old canon and actually incorporated some things from the EU. So I think those that were upset with the EU changes will be very happy with this first book in the new canon.
After reading this I am really looking forward the other upcoming novels.

Another great adventure in the Star Wars universe. The main villain was written well and extemely entertaining. Not to mention the fact that I loved how he was voiced in the audio book. The main characters were also well done, but not as interesting as some of the other protagonists in the new Star Wars novels (Lost Stars, Dark Disciple). My only complaint, is that the voice of Skelly was extremely annoying. Reminded me of Gilbert Godfried...whose voice I despise. But Marc Thompson is a phenomenal reader, my complaint is probably more with the Producer of the audiobook for choosing that creative direction for Skelly.

When Star Wars moved into TV shows, I was against it. Then I saw Clone Wars, and it silenced me. When I heard about Rebels, I knew it would be amazing. And it is. Oh, trust me, it is. If you don't believe me go and watch the trailer for season 2. Best trailer I've ever seen!!!

*ahem*

But the story behind Kanan, and how he met Hera, always intrigued me. Deeply. I'm still dying for a little more backstory on them in the show, but in the mean time, Lucas Books from now onwards are canon, and actually make sense. So the origin story of how the two of them met, that actually is 100% in line with the show? YES PLEASE.

It's dark, and we see what Kanan meant when he said that he lost his way after Order 66. Reading him finding himself again, seeing past his pain and fear and starting on the path of the awesome rebels on Luthal was wonderful. It's well written, it's funny, and has the same flair as the show, while staying true to the serious side Star Wars books bring to the table. I'm dying to own this!

           As a huge fan of Star Wars: Rebels, I was really excited to read this book. The book is very segmented, but so far, that okay with me. Finally, I get to know more about Sloane. The overreaching surveillance of Imperial citizens gave me communist China or even KGB vibes. 
Oh my goodness, Count Vidian was such a frustrating character. It felt like we were trying to be a mix of Count Dooku and General Grievous. How is Sloane surprised Vidian would randomly murder people? 
I would have loved to get more of Kanan's escape story. I love the bits we got, but I craved to know more. I especially loved Dave Filoni's epilogue. Overall, I very much enjoyed the book.
